Anyone else read the new bicycling magazine article, Paint Your Lane, about DIY bike lane projects, primarily the Fletcher bridge project here in LA. Crimanimalz is also mentioned. It talks about the growing frustration with city government that doesn't do anything and taking matters into your own hands. It's exciting to see bicycling magazine cover some real urban cycling issues

did they mention how the city is quicker to buff it then they are to actually add a bike lane themselves ? where at the fletcher yard where the DIY lanes anyways ? i always though 'fuck yea' to this. go LA

I've been wondering about those on the fletcher. They were buffed over before I ever got to see them.
They were also ridiculously quick buffing the Sharrows that were installed on Figueroa. Also in NELA.

Yeah, they painted over it with black paint, but you can still see it pretty well, especially with a little imagination. I use it all the time.

I say next time we put them up, if they get buffed, then go back and put them back up!
Lets drive home the point. If anyone needs help, I'm ready to help out.

Woohoo! I just read the article and it's great that the writer went out with them to scout the location and for the actual painting!
