 No, the wormhole from the Stargate must've pierced a hole through the Sun and brought temperatures down a few notches.

This in turn caused a freak snow-storm by the beach and also ripped a temporary hole in the fabric of space/time.

Luckily the Fourth Horseman rode along and patched it up before the minions of the netherworld could breach it.

In return, my soul was dragged outta my body and placed into that of a Hell-hound!!!

So, there's your answer, Airman!!!
