Who hasn't seen this building in downtown LA? Here's a story about that building in Wired.

 lars works in that building. my dad does too. to get in you have to show id, then get a visitor id card made with your photo on it. then the card is programmed with the floor you are going to so that you can only take the elevator to that floor. before going into the elevator you also have to swipe your card to go through a little turnstyle thing to get to the elevator.

 Since we are on the subject of server farms,,,
Looking for a managed servers company.
I've had a couple of servers at Datapipe for five years. Very reliable, great service but I'd like 1-2 TB of space with backups and they are asking for $4/GB/mo.

Do not suggest Dreamhost. They back up on the same machine.
Media Temple? Not so great service.
Rackspace? Similar prices to Datapipe.

 Yeah, that stuff looks almost as bad as our server rooms. Ours are cabled poorly because no one has the time to do things right here.
