Map Your Crashes

There's a new Google Maps app at http://bikewise.org that lets you map your crashes, road hazards, bike thefts, and other stuff (like where you wish there were more bike racks...). It was put together by a bike club in the Pacific NW, but it works everywhere there's Google maps, and cyclists willing to input data! I've been mapping Pasadena, but the rest of SoCal is wiiiide open. The data is publicly visible, and looks like it will be licensed under Creative Commons (meaning it will stay public).
The City clearly isn't going to keep track of this data for us, so we need to do it for ourselves. And who knows, someday in the (not so?) distant future when gas is $10/gallon and China refuses to sell us any more cars on credit, maybe the City will actually choose to use the data for enlightened planning purposes!
