You know you've all fallen into the trap, right? The government WANTS you to mistrust it, it maintains more control over you this way, makes more money off of you this way! YOU are doing exactly what it wants!
I don't care about liking the guy. I don't even know him.
Sure, I voted for him, but it was as much a vote against Palin as for Obama. You can argue against the lesser of two evils voting but that's not really the point of this thread.
I'm aware that he in a powerful position but how is it any different than any other president? I mean if it is, clue me in. I'm not against learning and I'm not pre-disposed to thinking you're lying.
i was going to say basically this. you don't need to look at obama in particular. although there certainly are a number of things you could call him out on, including wiretapping and making the executive branch not responsible and basically immune in law.
baby i'm an anarchist.

Every president we've had since Carter have been fascists. Some more than others. All the presidents have taken the position of the US as being an imperialist nation that pretty much calls the shots in world politics. Obama is looking to be no different than his predecessors. He's going to back down on closing Gitmo, he's backtracked on releasing photos depicting illegal detention and treatment of war prisoners, he's backtracking on pulling troops out of Iraq and is turning his back on the people that put him in office. He's abandoning the issues and stance that got him in office the first place. Time will bear this out.

To be fair to Obama, he signed the order closing Guantanamo and then got fucked by the idiot dems (i.e. Reid) buying the bullshit about the prisoners being released. I really didn't know Reid was that retarded.
As to the pictures of torture and shit, I believe the CIA announced they couldn't release them due to an order signed by Bush in 2003 that keeps classified documents being used in active investigations. So maybe Obama could reverse that order, I don't know, but as it stands it's not on him that they haven't come out yet.
However I do think the fact that he plans to continue Bush's suspension of habeas corpus under a new name is total bullshit.
No, Obama is defying a court order to release the photos. Obama takes risk with reversal on detainee photos. Again, he's turning his back on the issues and the people that got him in office. He'll take awhile for this to sink in with the public, but give it time.
Granted he's doing far better than Bush ever did, or McCain would have ever done, but that doesn't mean he's doing a good job or he's not a fascist.

I'm not really trying to defend the guy, just was curious about the intent of the original post.
He totally got railroaded on the funds for closing Gitmo. Reid actually made a statement about releasing the detainees being a public safety issue. When someone said uhh they're not getting released they're being moved to a prison he said "you can't put them in prison without releasing them." Fucking idiot.
Still though. This indefinite pre-emptive detaining bullshit has to go.
I think we can all agree that pretty much all politicians are fuckfaces. Except for maybe Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich. And I've got my eye on them...
I'm in Hell-A right now hoping not to get lost on the fuckin highways again. Going to spend the afternoon recharging my batteries on Venice beach and look for the perfect burrito. Any suggestions?
This is it, the last week of the Hopium tour, so if you are in Los Angeles or in Denver, don't be a punk ass and come give me a terrorist fist jab.
