NOBODY DRESSES UP IN COSTUME ANYMORE!!!

Why? I think its sad to see a cool themed ride just turn into another "normal" regular ride because only 20 people out of 500 ridazz decided to dress up! What happened to all the fun in dressing up??
What can we do to change this???

Extravagant spoke cards given out to the costumed and those who either tricked out their bikes or brought a system.
Those that don't get the extravagant spoke cards will wonder why and then be told the errors of their ways, then be obliged to deck themselves out at the next ride.
Hell, booby-tassels on the helmet would go a long, way in breaking the hipster-monotony.

i enjoy riding my bike with the circus known as midnight ridazz, but i dont even dress up for halloween.
spoke cards are like, so important, too.

You're a metal-head that rides fixed, you've exceeded all requirements as it is.

Richie has been doing this on C-Mob rides. I think it's a great idea, but nothing will bring back the attitude during those rides. Take an overall look at how much the rides, the bike scene (MR), and even bicycles (in society) have changed within the past couple years. Back then, people wore costumes, yes, but they also (generally speaking): stayed in groups better, obeyed the traffic laws more frequently, didn't steal from one-another, didn't swerve and weave through groups of cyclists on their fixies (as much), didn't litter, didn't vandalize, didn't go ballistic on motorists solely for being on the road.
Do you remember Los Angelopes? I do too....

Yeah, I look at all the pictures of the rides that occurred prior to myself coming on board.
I feel as though I might've caught the tail-end of the good shit while it lasted.
The spirit is still there in some areas, but I'll have to agree with you on the point that every ride seems to be turning into a wannabe, alley-cat race.
People have got to learn to lighten up and let it all hang out once again.
As far as the carnival-like atmosphere disappearing, that would be a hit too hard to swallow.
At that point, I'll probably pack my bags and move to that smaller town I keep moaning about.

It just seems to be happening on a larger scale, with more of them going faster and getting lost at the same time.

dont worry about them, then.
if you tell them to slow down and ride straight and they want to fight you, let them do their own thing and get lost. one day they will figure it out. or they will jump onto the next trend and youll never see them again.

I won't worry about them, in fact, their loss is my gain.

Cooler themes that aren't marketing for "products" helps. Some vague themes, such as clowns, pirates, etc, help too. And incentives, such as special spoke cards, or spoke cards ONLY for those in theme.
I've also notice that a lot of people don't know what spoke cards are on the larger rides.
dunno.
