So, it's going down this Monday at around 4:30-5:30ish.
I'm going to show-case the system as well as pass out these spokecards I made.
Not much, but hopefully enough to take this thing and turn it into a monthly deal.

Well, just got the spokecards printed and they're quite basic.
But if the message catches on, then I may make different ones each month.
If not, then I walked away feeling like I pushed an agenda!!!

Good luck! Hope you get some people out to ride. Maybe post it on the calendar... on Midnight Ridazz here and Bike Boom if you can.

Damn Adam, would love to come out there some day and show some love for the rednecks. Maybe plan a Deep Creek trip around it too?

About 65 people showed up to this years ride, all my spokecards were exhausted and well-appreciated as well.
I mean, I had to explain to most what they were all about, but then they came to see their general use and message.
Afterward, I just hung out with a rather, large cadre of BMX'rs that decided to fuck around in the Target parking lot for 2 hours.
A night that was rather enjoyable in the desert for once.

65 peeps sounds awesome Adam! I would have loved to be there for that just hang out with them. I hope it turns into something that continues.

Well, the spokecard was kind of rushed, but I included the site names for here and the local cycling club.
And the fact that I had my system on the ride turned alot of heads too, many were looking at it like it was some type of artifact.

Freaking nice Adam!! That's a pretty good turnout!! How is it riding out there? Wide roads? Good peeps? Good vibes? Any fixies or a lot of mtb peeps?

Bear Valley is supposed to be 3 lanes, but there are plenty of jackasses up here that like to maintain control over all lanes.
As far as fixed goes, I've seen scant evidence, but this ride was chock full of weekend warriors and teen/young adult BMX'rs.

I was actually utilizing GIMP to put together the spoke-cards, but one of the graphics I cropped could've been an MS Paint creation.

Paper's kind of a joke up here anyway, I'm just glad there was some positive news among all the typical world, national, local drama.

A group shot I finally came across from the ride after three months of hard-digging.
With the distance between each of the communities up here and the infill that encompasses them, the urban deserters rule Victorville, while Apple Valley remains a BMX stronghold.
Too bad most of these guys remain within their own territory, but then again Apple Valley town council and these guys go at it over the local skatepark to this day.

Three months too late, I was missing back then. Congrats anyway.

Wasn't an effort of mine, but I at least got the name out with the above spoke-card design.
Unfortunately, not many up here have the mindset to ride to and from all three of the cities that comprise the Victor Valley region.
Weather(wind), narrow bridges that keep sections of the desert communities linked across the Mojave river and train tracks and 15 freeway, shit drivers.
Only way I see a monthly effort going on would be to piss on Hesperia and Victorville for now, and instead focus efforts on Apple Valley.
They've got more bike lanes up here than the rest of the desert and incrementally more people who would step up to the plate.

That's if I could get the ball rolling with some assistance from that guy in the far-left corner.
Willie Furmage/Capt.Crazy also shares my sentiment towards the boys on the local forum up here.
He's somewhat of the "knittens" of Apple Valley, Apple Valley being akin to the Westside, while Victorville and Hesperia are akin to being more unfavorable parts of the basin.
Me, I'm just a Warrant Officer overseeing technical insight of how to make it feel urban.

Well, looks like we've got the ball rolling.
William Furmage/Capt.Crazy has decided to make the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month a "round-up of the BMX troops" of at least Apple Valley.
Ride to their town council, ride to get food later, and perhaps turn this into something bigger.
Baby steps at a time though, I just consider myself the adviser.
Mr. Furmage could be considered the Stephen Box of the desert, now that I know there actually is a movement spurning on the other side of the Mojave River.
