Let's hear 'em. If you showed up to the Toy Ride and didn't bring a toy, tell us why. We're all dying to know. (And by "we're," we of course mean "I.") I'm sure there must be a reason why you didn't have time to stop by the market and pick up a couple of knickknacks, yet you somehow managed to carve four or five hours out of your hectic schedule to stand around and drink beer.

I'd like to see how many of the "non-bringers" actually post here.
The main excuse would probably be something along the lines of,
"But mommy, I wasn't informed!!!"
In that case, get off the drug that is WoW, and read the forums a bit before coming out of your hive!!!
Something I didn't do all day due to it being cold in the desert, my alarm not going off, and someone putting a blanket over my window to simulate darkness.

I flat ran out of time beforehand, and figured the ride would stop at a drugstore or something where I could get toys, but we didn't. I put a bunch of stuff in the toy drive boxes at work yesterday, though.

because the day of the toy ride
all i ate was a 99c double cheeseburger from burger king
with the leftover change in my change box.

um... generally i don't like to support the consumerist values that have been instilled in the american holidays, as i still have counsins in developing countries that are happy as a boat with their imagination, a soccer ball, the simpleness of life, and the togetherness and health of their family and there is something that should be said about that...
nonetheless...i know the organizers and the non-profit have very good intentions (and that's what counts), we do not live in a developing country, and i am not that much of a scrooge or bahumbug to not participate. so i chose to donate a toy basketball set in the spirit of helping fight childhood obesity...

I'll step up. I asked if I could bring stuffed animal toys (my pops donates to his country by the ton) and someone told me they had to be new and unopened. These toys were in great condition and those that know me know I wouldn't bring some poor looking thing trying to pass as a xmas gift. I was a bit shocked at the response and quite frankly a little perturbed. Still not an excuse. The reason I didn't buy one was because I've barely had enough to eat and for those of you who will point out the beers I bought... think again. That was all with the money I collected from other ridazz who didn't want to make the trek to the liquor store. And Rev. Dak can attest to how much shit I actually put on my back and how hard it was to bring it back.

It's been said.. but a good group of riders helping out (between 5-10) will help herd in the loose cannons. And if not then they can go as fast as they want and get lost, as those same 5-10 people maintain the ride at the same pace.
