hows that motorcycle cop that went down in hollywood doing?
does this accident mean that there will be less motrcycle cops on LACM?
you think the city will see what a wast of $$$ it is to have so many cops on the LACM?
you see any problems dealin with a minor on LACM that is braking curfew?
what about all the other minors braking curfew on LACM?
i think the city is going to see this shit aint worth it

Don't forget the physical therapy exercises, too. They can be really important for retaining full range of movement on the shoulder.

ur dealin with a minor if it is after 10. when we went to venice on the LACM it was after 10. did the minor have a guradan that the parents ok? that is a biger violatsion than a open beer. if something went down the city might even get sued for deal with a minor.

Minor point, but I'm not down with the motorcycle cops response in the tunnel. I know at that stage the Mass had expanded into all the oncoming lanes of traffic and the motorcycle cops were just trying to get everyone back to the right again--but then we all get choked with the exhaust from the motorcycles.
At that point I was pretty separated from the 2 other ridazz calling out road hazards and trying to get new riders to stay out of oncoming traffic (not like anyone was listening anyway) and no one would have heard us in the tunnel anyway.
Don't you have some WPH LAPD on bikes that can do this instead?
I don't feel safer with the LAPD there because honestly, just waiting for some officers to go rogue and baton or otherwise harass me or ridazz around me because some rider 100 feet ahead ran a red light.

I promised to get back to you regarding the injured motor officer.
He went down but no broken bones and will return to work soon. Basically a tourist made an illegal left and the officer went down.

No...you get fired and indited for beating up random people (under the color of authority) without cause.
You indicated that cops are unlikely to testify against each other...and that is why I plead with those on these forums to step up and be witnesses that will help the Department identify bad officers. Witnesses have a responcibility too I think.
As for me takling responicibility...please indicate how and for what. You certainly will not "take responcibility" for the actions of all ridazz (nor should you). I will be happy to take responcibility for my actions...but can not do so for the actions of all police officers. All I can do is call bad officers out when they cross the line.
With regards to your anger and other issues...would you like me to get a referal for you? (I mean this without any sarcasm and in all sincerity).

By taking responsibility, I mean exactly that. The last CM (2 months ago?) you missed your coworkers beat the shit out of quite a few of my friends.
If you care so much about all of us, why not be at all of these policing your men? Why not give all police officers helmet cams to record their "justified" brutality?
Just how many officers have been fired for their brutality against CM riddaz?
I, as are other ridazz, am forced to take responsibility for the actions of all other ridazz, every time we are out on the road people are passing us. These people have either had good or bad experiences with riders in general. We are forced to suffer the consequences daily of the lawless riders. We have things thrown at us, run of the road, intentionally hit etc.
Maybe Los Angeles is different because of the size, but in my city, when you file a complaint on an officer, it is made known. You are then subjected to extreme harassment, illegal searches etc.
I think it is irresponsible to come on these sites for your PR purposes.

You are really twisted sense of reality if you think that people attack cyclists based on the perceived actions of other cyclists.
That would illogically lead you to blame any cyclist whose style of riding you don't approve of for the mis-deeds of drivers who don't understand or respect a cyclist's right to the road and negatively act out on that impulse.
OVERWHELMINGLY, when I have contact with somebody in a car who acts aggressively toward my rightful place on the road, their response is that they believe that bicycles should ride in the gutter, along side cars, or on the sidewalk: anywhere but in a place that may require a car to go around.
The rest of the people I have run into seem like random haters/ harassers. The people that slap an ass, throw an egg, or aggressively pass a cyclist, not because they are upset about anything that that cyclist or anybody else has done, but because they are stupid and will fuck with any vulnerable person that is in their sight of vision.
If got news for you.
Assholes who don't like cyclists, don't like them for their own reasons.
They may point to one exceptional person or one ride as an example of why ... but thats really just an excuse. If you listen to the radio, or read blog comments, or actually talk to the drivers who do this shit. When they start venting, you see that what it really comes down to is a hatred for anybody who would dare to use the road with anything but a car, regardless of how well they follow the law. Its pointless for most of them anyway because most of them don't know the law, and when faced with the law they ignore it or deny it.

There are good people, there are people that lay low and don't really stand for much, and there are bad people. Regardless of profession, political leaning and whatnot, I personally think Sgt. David Krumer is a good person that is genuinely trying to help cyclists.
The LAPD has a negative history to say the least, there is absolutely no denying that (framing folks, organized crime ties, extortion, Red Squad, Rampart, etc etc). So you can talk as much shit as you wish about the department as a whole, but do keep in mind that there are some idealistic people who joined the force for positive reasons.
Have a point and shoot camera at every ride, get misconduct on tape, get it to the media. Don't just complain, do something.

Sgt Krumer can't be everywhere at once. How can you expect him to supervise every officer in LA at all times? No one person can supervise a staff that is spread over half a mile or more.
Krumer files and follows up on reports against officers in his own department on behalf of people who don't know how / can't do it themselves. If that isn't taking responsibility, then I don't know what is. True, the department will ignore every single one of these reports and the violence will go unpunished. But that's not Krumer's fault.
He is not perfect, but no one is, and I think he's doing the best he can. I think your attitude towards LAPD in general is justified, but Krumer doesn't deserve the flak you're giving him personally.
