Awesome story. I'm not sure how accurate the author's assertion is where he states, "These athletes are typically less than 30 years old". The article I read on super marathon runners, many of them are 30 and over. I think the winner of the women's division of the Death Valley marathon was in her 50s. I think it's cause the youngsters go out way too fast and shoot their loads way too soon. Where as the seasoned oldsters know to take their time and enjoy the moment.
I tried to find a video on the "Young-shuffle", but no luck. Would be interesting to see how that works.
