This must be a committee meeting, because the regular meetings are on the 2nd Tuesday, and occur at the Mar Vista Recreation Center. If it is a committee meeting, then any motion which passes the committee must still pass the board in October, on the 13th. Moreover, neighborhood councils are advisory bodies only, except as pertains their budget, and so they wouldn't have authority to create such a ban - so this could only come out as a recommendation to City Council.

It's a meeting of the PLUM (Planning and Land Use Mgmt) Committee. So yeah, any motion that passes the committee still has to go through the full MVCC on Oct 13th, and any motion from that body is purely advisory.

Well, (thankfully) the motion didn't pass. Our taco trucks are safe for now.

well, as it turns out the PLUM committee supports taco trucks. as it turns out, the person who agendized it owns a children's clothing store, and had some issues with his local taco truck. he enumerated many (silly-to-borderline-racist) complaints about his local taco truck.
the taco truck in question was the one on centinela and venice and parks in front of the restaurant they own. many of the committee members were very supportive of the owner, who came out to speak in her defense. its ironic that she was the target of the attack, because she actually opens her restroom to anyone eating at the taco truck.
she also wanted me to thank all of the midnight ridazz who showed up to support taco trucks. as a thank you and to celebrate her one year anniversary of owning a permanent location, she wanted me to invite all of you to free oaxacan chicken mole and other treats on wednesday, september 23rd. for all you vegetarians, try the tlayuda with quesillo. it's like a oaxacan tostada with southern-mexican string cheese.
her restaurant is directly across from bikerowave and on the same block as LA Brakeless.
