NITERIDER LIGHTS
Thread started by Jeff Yess at 11.18.09 - 3:27 pm

SO WAS THINKING ABOUT GETTING A NITERIDER LIGHT BUT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE RUNTIMES.

2 HOURS MAX ON SOME MODELS?

ANOTHER BATTERY PACK FOR MORE $?

I USE SOME CHEAP LED FLASHLIGHTS, BUT THEY ARE JUST NOT LIKING THE ROAD VIBRATIONS.

WHAT YA RIDING WITH?

reply

the usb ones have smaller batteries, and have shorter run times. i know, its hard to fathom something like this. they are worth the price. flashlights are not.

get the minewt night rider light and USE IT ON FLASH DAY AND NIGHT!

I cannot stress how great these lights are. they are blindingly bright. using them in flash mode extends the life of the battery to a long long time. Im guessing 6-8 hours.

We all need the BRIGHTEST FLASHING lights possible. they irritate and aggitate driver's little brains with activity.

you can fuck with the cheap stuff but then you are basically saying, my life is worth $25 et al. INVEST in your life.

I have a night rider, and a blackburn led quadrant light.

When I am in very lit areas, i only use the led. If I'm going down big hills or in really dark areas I use both.

I love having my night rider, but for street riding you need at least a single led just incase.

NOW FOR SOME NITERIDER HUNTING

i was actually fine with cree flashlights but have since moved on to this. probably the best light for the dollar, but it does lack a usable (to me) flashing mode. also, might not be as "waterproof" as some other lights. about 3.5hrs on "high", but i usually ride on "low" and the battery lasted long enough for a metric we did last thurs. a couple of my riding buddies have niterider and comparable lights (not sure what models) and everyone was impressed by how bright my light was.

Niteriders, DiNotte...the good ones cost, but they are worth it on dark nights. I've been using Niteriders for years, and I've learned to turn them off as much as possible. I'm looking to upgrade to DiNotte soon.

I've been looking at these lights.

900 lumens, the Niterider is 200

roadblock i just got that light and used it in the wolfpack century. it is really bright. you can read the reviews in the link i posted. some guy says it worked in the rain. It was 80 total with shipping so for me it's worth the risk of not being top build quality. I think the actual lumens are more like 500 at top. i use the half bright and that was really good for seeing everything in my path in total darkness.

I started with a DiNotte but it got stolen off my bike, arrrgh!! Shoulda' wrapped it with duct tape to make it look crappy!!! The night riders have that "don't mess with me" look.

Really happy with my Dinotte light. It came with two lithium-ion batteries and the O-ring mounting system makes it easy to remove or put on another bike.

I have the minewt x2 as well.

flash mode at night lights up everything reflective for a mile. Drivers defiantly see me.

I do want to get a cheap backup light because I always forget to charge it

It would be cool to get Niteriders Classics for the front and back.

One to see and be seen, the other to flash blind the dumbshits that flip their brights on behind you.

Or as another alternative, Niterider Classic for the front, $15 offroad OEM's from Harbor Freight as the rear-blinders.

I've got the Dinotte 200L AA battery version. Bright... flash mode has a steady light with it which is cool. Having the AA version enables you to always have a backup source available. LIthium Ion pack will last longer but when you're out... you're out. Not like you can go to a 7eleven and pick up another lith ion battery. RB's minewt's are dope too... check out his wolfpack vids.

@tfunk... i've been eyeing those lights. I have a led flashlight w/ the same led/lumens when I need the extra light. But... the dinotte kicks butt. Order just the "engine" only and save some cash. If you already have rechargables iand a charger... you can just buy the light itself from the website and get the battery holder from Radio Shack.

Check out the lights on the next ride you're on. It's the best way to actually see them in action. Good luck Jeff! .
