Awesome write up!
BTW L. Ron Hubbard Way is actually a public street, owned by the City of Los Angeles.
Though the Scientologists close it off most of the time for "events". We rode through that street, as well as those rich neighborhoods in Hancock park where the police helicopter followed us, because we have a right to ride public streets. Even though some may cringe when 400 bicycles with screaming riders come through.

On Beverly it became apparent the helicopter rotering overhead was not coincidentally in our area. It was the LAPD telling us from a loudspeaker, “to cease and desist.” We made a right, so did the helicopter. It followed us bringing squad cars.
what were you doing to give the order disperse? I heard the patrol cars were pretty much dictating where the ride went?

the helicopter told us to stop blocking traffic. We weren't blocking traffic, we were the traffic.
There were no patrol cars until we got to Vons and they left us alone.

The helicopter said some bullshit over the speaker but I couldn't hear what they said over their own rotter noise, I don't know why they keep thinking we can hear them. They followed when we rode through some "rich" areas, but after we left they left, and we went to the parking lot of YUMYUM / Pavilions. One cop car showed up at that parking lot, and just chilled on the street. I left after that because I had a cold, so don't know the rest.
