Don't forget, there's Red Bull Soapbox Race this Saturday in downtown.
Red Bull Soapbox Race.
Looks like the course is just one 90 degree turn. It would have been cool if they would have done a left then a right. Maybe next year?

Not a race, a parade. The SFVISBF will not be there. We are for real.

A huge company like Red Bull couldn't possibly have a real fuck-shit-up soapbox derby, I wouldn't think. The liability would be huge.

This was an awesome event. Put together well by the people at Red Bull. There was some danger of getting injured, but I don't think anyone got seriously hurt. I only ended up seeing about the last 10 racers out of 40. I was amazed to see so many entries for a first year event.
What really sucked was that there were no water fountains anywhere for the 100,000 or so people there. The only way for people to get water was if they brought some or bought some. LA must be the only metropolitan city in the world that doesn't have a drinking fountain in it's center parks. That's right, Pershing Square doesn't have any drinking fountains.
