GET PAID | JARED LETO

READ IT ALL
There has been an extraordinary amount of false assumption, pointing fingers, and so many negative words from our very own ridazz about this whole subject. I am truly ashamed of the face that some of the people from our community have shown in the past week...
I just got off a long phone call with the producer, Melissa, and want to share a few things with you. This production was extremely last minute and went into action last wednesday, 4 days before the 1st day of shooting. This left minimal time to find locations, hire crew, find bikers for Jared's vision, etc. With it being last minute, this was a major foreshadow that the shoot will have plenty of speed bumps... And we all know it did.
Jared has friends and family that ride on our rides, hang with our peeps and have been a part of us for a while now. We obviously made enough of an impact for him to feel that one of his songs would be complimented by our presence. We ARE his video and he knows this! The mistakes that were made are to blame for this mess, not Jared Leto because it's 'his' video. Do you blame the rider leader when someone gets stabbed on a ride? NO! Besides, he is trying to fix this and get everyone paid.
It was NEVER the intent of the Jared Leto nor production to 'screw', 'lie to', or 'scam' anyone on the shoot. A whole slew of issues from casting to communication all built up what i like to call, 'the big fuck up'. I really feel bad that Jared is getting the blunt side of this drama for trying to make his 'idea' come to life.
But there is ALWAYS room for light to shine through, and it will. I'd like to thank COURAGE aka Thunderthighs for spending countless hours since day 1 of filming, and still to this very minute, working on getting everyone paid what was promised to them. Without her, this would be sinking into the depths of the LA Tar pits. SO THANK YOU COURAGE!!! WE <3 YOU!!!!
The producer gave me a call today asking clarification on what was happening with people being paid because she had been getting so many different stories. After explaining the situation to her, she wanted to know what had to be done so that no one was getting shanked. This is what we concluded. If you didn't get what was owed to you, this is what you need to do:
Send an email to ridenow123@gmail.com FROM the email you used to sign up. Include any details about the dates you were there and what you did and/or didn't get paid. Your info will be compared to the list of payments handed out and you WILL be getting what was owed, guaranteed by the production.. They are extremely sorry for what has happened... The bikers are not the only victims from these errors. Lets have some room for compassion and work WITH these guys, not against them, ok? Many of the crew were just as uninformed as we were.
If you don't have something productive to say, keep it to yourself. We're on the last page of this chapter, let it go smoothly.

Good job, Richie. I wanted to be there, but shit didn't work out for me.
I thought it would be interesting to be involved in some big budget hollwood baloney even if it was little pay. I thought it was interesting.
Did you get the mini bikes back? How many? I was wondering if ET wa able to get your green ones and if I could get my other ones back. Thanks.

You might not think this is productive, but I always thought the stabbing was your fault. Well you or Alex Thompson, it had to be the results of something either of you did.

I want to thank the riders there that helped make sure I got paid. I was very frustrated that after 13 hours of work I wasn't going to get paid even though they had cash in hand.

I'd like to add to this:
I went by Richie's yesterday to buy one of his bikes off of him. The entire time I was there testing it out, Richie was on the phone with people (inc. Leto himself) trying to sort this thing out. This was the day after he spent over 50 hours without sleep working on this production.
Yes, you may not like Leto or 30 s. to Mars or the industry and what they stand for. You're entitled to that opinion. But to rag on Richie and the ridazz who put their all into having fun and repping the bike community, or ragging on Leto because of clerical errors unbeknown to him, is just disrespectful.
Please, grow the fuck up.

Jesus. They still make music videos with only 4 days pre pro.
That's why I stopped doing them. It's IMPOSSIBLE to do a good job under these circumstances.
But yeah when I was Richie's age I didn't mind the insanity.
In any case, I'd like to donate my pay to Brittany for entertaining me all day today.

Anyways.. about Courage, i think the first time I met her was at the Warriors screening with those tren way peeps... this time, she publicly chewed my ass twice for asking about payment for my friends, but that was prob just cause I deserved an ass chewing.

Come on now. You guys want a love fest for leto now. Justify your poor decision all you want but the project was a piece of shit from the beginning. If you had fun fine, but leto is still a douche and the product which you promote will show that.

Thanks for posting this Richie! And for always reppin your positive vibe. There is no way the community would know about the backiline work it takes to fix mistakes without you.
You, XL- Lauren, Stewart, you all took the hard knocks for everything that went south production side. All I wanted was a fair representation of the community, whomever wanted to be included, and a little coin for our time. Most people got paid, a few (Less than 10) did not. It's taken a few days, but the willingness to fix this came from Leto's camp first, and then the production company. Go BOB and Melissa!!!
The production company was super over taxed and has been doing their best, which may no be yours or mines best, but they ARE doing what they can to right any wrongs in terms of pay.
I can't imagine that the circle of death scene will not look awesome.

I can understand that, though. I support and appreciate the fact that you were all hardworking and extremely patient throughout the shoot. especially with all the riders at the end of the day. What frustrated me and all the others, though, was that at the end of the night, the people working there (who I know aren't responsible for the big "fuck up" of the production) acted like there was no guarantee that we were going to get paid. The ride leaders had guaranteed pay, and that's the difference.

I still stand by everything I said. Just because they're trying to "smooth things over" doesn't mean they didn't fully intend to use and abuse the extras. People in the industry, by and large, are professional liars and bullshitters. Just because they're smiling and telling you how great you are and how much they care doesn't mean you're not a means to an end ($$$$) to them.
As I tend to repeat to producers, directors, ADs, and all the other bullshitters over and over, a lack of money and/or a lack of time is not an excuse for cutting corners and doing things the wrong way. No buts.
Enjoy the Leto Koolaid, kids!
