Supulveda Pass is annoying

So on my ride to work today, I have to go up over Supulveda, I have to say its so damn annoying. First the cars go an average 20 mph over the speed limit, but what ever, that's Los Angeles. Second there is the overgrown bushes and trees. This is year around. Nothing ever gets done about it. I almost want to go out and do it myself on a weekend.
There are some areas where the "bike lane" paint points directly into a big bush. Quite fitting for LA.
Then when it rains, the rocks and boulders that are across the road are huge, but rain might happen 3 times a year, so that's not as annoying as the bushes.
On the up side today on my ride over the hill I spotted 4 deer, 2 big ones (looked angry) 2 babies. They were hanging out eating on the valley side of the hill. It was cute to see, it also made me sad that these deer know nothing about living in a place that does not have smelly noisy cars zooming by at 60mph.
Rant over.

Sounds like this place could be one of the many that could benefit from speed-activated, speed-bumps.
Go 5 mph over the speed, the bump will automatically come up and jar the fuck out of your bones!!!

you really want to take care of those bushes? i have an axe and a strong desire to fix our city's bike infrastructure by any means necessary.

So if we can get some hedge Trimmers and some trash bags, maybe "barrow" some cones. We could go up there and trim those damn bushes out of the way. Couldn't we barrow some equipment from the city somehow?
Id be down for a morning of brush clearing if anyone else is up for it.

Oh man, I know exactly where you're talking about. That bush sucks so much. I have a chainsaw, I think. But no free mornings during the weekdays.
Also, try going over around 9 or 10 a.m., it's nice to be flying past cars on the ascent.
...I also may already have some permanently 'borrowed' cones. Maybe.

You wouldn't even get a traffic cone from the city cause of liability issues. The most you can hope for is that the city doesn't hassle you for doing this.

...but I can assure you that the entitled Sherman Oaks bitch who owns the property the bush is growing from will hassle you if he or she see you at it.
