i'd like to reiterate my last thought on some earlier thread regarding this matter:
"i bet that Juno changes the date so many times we won't be seeing this race until 2012, about the same time we get the Salton Sea pictures from Alex Thompson."
so it's anyone's guess now as in the past few weeks:
Juno has changed the date of The Prom Ride 2 times and Alex Thompson finally put up the Salton Sea pics..

according to Junu, the race is this saturday and begins at 9am on Beverly Glen. I'm not sure which side of the hill. Alex Thompson, please confirm this.

its a single lane heavily commuted road, with very few passing spots, wouldn't be wise to hold up traffic.

not fast enough for the safety of chase cars, at finished his last run at 16:48 meaning he averaged no more than 12mph. speed limit through there is 30 i think?
i would've even suggested a loop to include the descent down benedict canyon so we can start roughly where we finish.

Hey, I'm down to record some video from my bike at any point on the course. Maybe right where it gets steep for some out of saddle mashing action.
For the riders, there is only one real intersection on the course. It's at Nicada Drive, I think. Low traffic, good visibility, no need to cork it.

Wiz could maybe start up the hill 6 minutes early - out of the saddle mashing would make good footages. That way you'll be rested when it's time to film. If I were you Wiz, I'd try to pick us up at about 9 minutes into the climb.

E-rock has to bulk up to get to his fighting weight. He told me what he weighed in at a few minutes and I just woke up in a puddle of my own vomit. I think I was trying to instantly lose 15 pounds and passed out.

i'm sorry e-rock your ride does not meet the requirement to be called a Caturday [warrior] ride. though you meet the elevation and ascent requirement, minimum planned route must be a metric century.

Yup I said it, after last weeks Caturday, I really don't think that AT has a chance. If JUNU flats and can fix a flat in less than 1 minute, my money would still be on JUNU.

parlourbikes looks to be on the money with his prediction. I mean, I rode 16:48 on Cub Camp, and Junu has done 13:59. That's a 2:49 gap. If I brought my time down even 90 seconds on the Cub Camp time, Junu could still beat me if he flats. So, it's just a matter of showing up.
Which we all know is a thing that Junu has a problem with.
This is interesting, someone is going to be in a position of eating crow, lots of it. There's no getting out of it.

Junu, buddy, presumably if you're beating my ass, which is your prediction, then I'll be watching you bike away from me. Even if you beat me by 3 minutes, I'd be able to see you over much of the course.
On the other hand, if I'm spanking you, then you'll be behind me, and I won't see you at all.
Oh yeah - the first section is fast, so the rule is, no drafting. At anytime.

after a mulholland roller commute this morning, i hit beverly glen again. bonked with .5 miles to go. good thing is my time at nicada was 11:10, bad news is i finished at 14:20. that was such a dizzying finish, note to self: smoke weed before this. i think the time was a sign.

My average velocity will be 6.7 m/s according to my time today.
Dr. Thompson will be averaging a velocity of 5.5879 m/s.
so each second there is about a 1.12 m/s difference. a bike length is say about 1.06 meters.
