I just watched this movie. Soooooo cheesy, but soooo classic.
It means a little more to me, well because this was my life.
I lived in Indiana and was a little outcast, being a pro triathlete at age 17 in high school in the midwest. Everybody was like, is that skiing and shooting??? It wasn't basketball, baseball or football, so they were a bit lost!
I have ridden just about every road in that film many many times.
Good Times.

Dad: What is this?
Mom: It's sauteed zucchini.
Dad: It's I-tey food. I don't want no I-tey food.
Mom: It's not. I got it at the A&P. It's like... squash.
Dad: I know I-tey food when I hear it! It's all them "eenie" foods... zucchini... and linguini... and fettuccine. I want some American food, dammit! I want French fries!

I love this movie.
Mike (Dennis Quaid) kinda bugs me with his nihilist, woe-is-me attitude. but I guess I understand it.
I love Dave and his Italian fanaticism about Team Cinzano: "Buon giorno, papa! "
Cyril is very cool in his too cool for school, ahead of his time, non-coolness.
And I love when Moocher punches out the time clock! I've wanted to do that plenty of times in my life!

I always identified with Mikes character in a way.
Particularly where the out-of-town kids are crashing and trashing the dignity of their local swimming hole.

Nearly froze my patoochee off but it was a great way to spend the evening.
You need to wear a little bit more than the usual long sleeve t-shirt and sweatshirt worn for a nite ride, but maybe its becuz you're sitting in one spot without moving much, huh?
And no matter how many times your granddaughter goes to the bathroom before you leave for the show, of course, as soon as the main feature starts she needs to go again. Thats life.
Brought my own chair this time though.
