First of all apologies in advance that this is not an "Ask Sgt Krumer" post.
I hope it's still OK to post items here of no concern to Sgt Krumer and/or LAPD like bike theft.

Any ideas for safe jury duty bike parking in downtown LA?
The Court is on Temple & Hill, the jury auto parking at Disney Hall.
No word about bike parking.
I want to serve jury duty and I do believe in Fully Informed Jury.

not sure where best to park (anywhere), but just wanted you to know that you get free admission to MOCA and the Geffen Contemporary with your juror badge! Since you aren't driving, you can also claim a free 7 day Metro TAP Card as well.

Whenever I go to LA Superior Court, I end up just taking the Red Line to Civic Center. It leaves me across the street from the court house. I gave up trying to find a place where I can leave my bike close to the court house.

Take a beater bike, and lock it out front on the busiest street with a No Stopping sign.

I just recently had jury duty this past week and I parked my bike directly in front of the juror entrance on temple next to the newspaper stands. After have being in that room for almost 9 hrs I came back down to find my bike still there. Of course I had two ulocks on it to ensure and hope it would less likely get stolen. Hope this helps.

I also locked up on Temple when I had jury duty, and I had no problems. I just took off my front wheel and locked it along with the rear wheel and frame to the racks they have out there on the sidewalk.

At least LA county will hold valuables up front.
Suck Bernardino county says "we can't hold it." and threaten you with a "failure-to-appear" if you're not back in the "jury detainment complex" by a certain time.

If the courts want citizens to actually look forward to jury service, they could start by making a juror pool feel like they're being treated as convicts.

BACK to BIKE PARKING
There are 3 petals to lock your bike on at the entrance of the Superior Court.
Should be safe with cops coming in an out all day.
There are also places to lock your bike in front of the new LAPD headquarters, one block south on 1st and Main.
No indoor parking but I might try the Disney Hall juror parking anyway.

If you have a quick release seat, make sure you take it... I had a couple taken from DTLA, one from that court house...

MoCA is a great place to park
they have off street bike parking
in a spot that has high employee traffic, and security near by
but is not visible from the street.

However it is a 5+ minute walk to the courthouse.

There is a starbucks outside the back of Stanley Mosk courthouse
in that area seems like it would be pretty secure as well due to to openness and he heavy foot traffic.
