So,
Last year I put a post up saying that you should do something to contribute to the local bike scene. I made a list of some things one could do, however small to improve and keep things going in the LA area. I know I did some events and tried some new ones, some worked out well and some did not. I am looking for my personal event/quality/time ratio that works well for me. Regardless, let see some positive posts on what YOU did to make cycling in LA bigger and better and what you plan to do for 2013!

Gave away free lights and helmets to every student that needed em.
Finally put an end to the speed limit increases in LA (for now)
Helped raise hit and run awareness
Carmageddon ride 2 to the beach
Next year im hoping to put together the best Wolfpack Hustle race series yet.

I believe reinforcing our foundation is important right now. I'm encouraging people to be active participants in second Fridays and critical mass. And I am playing with ideas for cmob. Please make these rides yours. You don't need permission to make a flier, bring some food or fun, lead a ride to the ride or anything else. These rides belong to all of us.

Always have all of our support.
2012...Sqrrl Scouts made rides more aesthetically pleasing. If you're hosting a ride, hit us up, we will work with you to make one of the stops out of this world! We did a whole lot of other things and there's only more to do.
We have huge plans for 2013. I'm stoked. You're stoked. Everyone is stoked. This is cool.

2013 is going to be Awesome I've heard so many groups and individuals say "I'm going to start hosting rides again." or "I want to start making it out to a lot more rides." I can totally feel the positive vibes on rides lately and it has been so cool to see some of the regular monthly rides celebrate anniversary's and milestones and see how excited people are to be able to still be a part of them. It is the ridazz that keep it going and it seems that a lot of people are excited about making all these events the best they can be. It's going to be a great year for the MR family!!! I'm Stoked--

I did the same old same old: Spoke(n) Art Ride, Brewery Ride, and Dim Sum Ride.
Wrote some articles, Twittered and Facebooked a like a madman - but that doesn't count for much.

This next year I am going to buy batches of LACBC memberships and give them away with the purchase of a new bike.
I am going to work with Ride Figueroa to make sure that the bike lanes planned for Figueroa are the best we can get. And at the end of the year I am going to enter the bike community into all the local parades we skipped this year because Carlos Morales and I took a break from organizing.

In addition to my unabated support of LA Bike Polo throughout 2013, I will be organizing Bench Minor 4 in El Segundo this coming June. It's one of the most intense Polo Tourneys on the calendar, and as a club we are honored to be hosting it this year. It's basically the Bike Polo All-Star game, but EXTREMELY competitive. The format features the best players in the game, chosen by the best players in the game. Riders from all over the Poloverse will be attending. This tournament will lend itself to spectation nicely, not to mention there will be a few after-parties at the beach...
Locally, potential and veteran Polo heads alike can look forward to more readily available pre-built mallets and supplies on hand, as our partnership with Fixcraft will be growing too.

NO REGRETS II, Midnight Ridazz ATX SXSW ride- I've been told that the the 'official organizers' of SXSW have a big problem with 'unofficial shows' at SXSW, so this year I wanna go bigger! Fuck the noise, we do this shit in the street! Bringing LA's brand of sound system backed cycling to everyones favorite blue bubble in Texas. Larsen is a wanted man there or some shit but hopefully well be able to get the bus out again- itll be my 5th year!

I just have an infrequently occurring
ride that has only pulled out about a dozen ridazz regularly. I led one MR ride in Jan 2012, and helped Rev Dak lead one other in Oct. Other than that, I haven't been very proactive in doing what I do for bikes this year. I don't think 2013 will be very socially active for me for bikes. I find myself riding trails more now and mostly by myself. It's not easy to gather a bunch to go places where I like to go to. My kids aren't big enough to ride bikes on their own yet. I'd probably do a lot more with them at some point. Whenever I read articles about bike riding in the city I become disillusioned from the comments of most people who don't understand or see the benefits of there being more bikes on the streets. I start to wonder if this will never change.
I do plan on making the
Bike SGV first meeting. Maybe I'll get inspired again.

i led a ride called SIRENS - an all girls fast ride (after GOGA ended) which met on the westside once a week
the SIRENS (two fixies, three geared) were one of two girls teams to enter the Wolfpack All City Race 3, coming in 20th out of 34 with a flat
i have voiced cyclists rights at many Neighborhood councils on the westside
attended the Beverly Hills City Council, Santa Monica City Council and Los Angeles to bring to their attention the escalating hit and run epidemic
i wrote for BikeSideLA.org and interviewed Louis Diaz (aka Bird Man) after his horrifying hit and run that left him in the ICU for 45 days, clinging to life
I helped put together the "Blood-In" where cyclists protested Beverly Hills Court House on the count that Louis' offender was not punished for her crimes but a slap on the wrist
i've been a apart of the Police Commission Public Comment and the LAPD Task Force
i led the ROGUE Ride IV and V with Hal Bergman and ROGUE Ride VI with Justin Jacobson
i found some of the stops for the WestSide Mosey over the years
i led numerous west side rides to east side rides, meeting up at c.r.a.n.k.mob park
and i created Bike Angeles, a ten day event in September that celebrates Los Angeles Bike Culture and passed it on to the Angelopes who made it happen in 2010 and 2011 and then i put together 2012 with the help of OG bike leaders all over the LA area starting with Krista's 2nd Friday Midnight Ridazz ride which ended at Angel's Point to a beautifully Squirrel decorated Church of FUN
i also moved into and currently am creating a new 6000sf bike house in mid city
i just learned how to weld (thanks, larsen!) so, i plan to be making some stuffs for burning bros 2013 and help create Bike Angeles 2013 and other stuffs

This year, I rode my bicycle to some neat places in Los Angeles. Then I took a bunch of people back to those places on the
weekly bike ride that I co-lead.
That was a good time. I'm going to keep doing that--and maybe some other things too--in 2013.ÂÂÂÂÂ

You forgot to mention your ah inspiring ceremonial role of ROTY or former ROTY. (i'm sorry that I'm not sure what is going on in the Bicycle Kingdom these day, i'm not on facebook)
We all hope you do plan on continuation of wearing furry animal type suits and your other fun loving whimsical outfits while acting in farcical manners. That does more for the local bike scene then any meeting with Meow Mowary ever could.

I just got back from 4 days of mountain biking in Arizona and I am stoked!
