Let's plan a ride around Bombay Beach before arriving to camp? Maybe setup a spot to chill and BBQ. It would be a great opportunity to mix with the locals.
Beautiful downtown Bombay Beach

For some reason google doesn't update the viewing page. Click on the link on the left that says " More photos", and then pan out. The area that looks pretty interesting is west of the mud pots and by the shore.

How crappy are the roads? I don't have much room for very wide cyclocross tires on my track bike. Will this trip be post apocalypse themed? This place looks awesome and I want to go.

Calendar marked. Missing last year was a major bad.

Would be really cool to get peeps out from SD to join us. There were some burners that joined us too last year. More burners would be cool too.
I did a ride route for that area I pointed out above. It's about 54 miles, but would be all flat. Have a looksie,
http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=2430664
Oh and on the tires and bike. If you have or can put on wider tires, that would help, but not really needed. Alot of the dirt terrain is hard pack or close to it. With a road bike you can walk to the assfault road. That walk is less than a mile from camp. The roads we were on were not the nicest or the smoothest. Definitely doable with a road bike. It's a different story if want to go off road of course.
+ 1 for post apocalypse

I rode 25s both on- and off-road last year.

Greg,
You also had several flats though, no?
If you are planning to come to Ridazz Camp - Salton Sea 2
Get some tires that can handle a little bit of off road and you will be fine, even with a road bike or fixie.
Get those tires that happen to have the same name of an extinct bicycle gang that we peed on...

That was due to my dumbassedness, not the conditions.
But, what Borfo says. There's lots of prickly things between camp and the road.

shit tires you say? well i got a pair for free the other day. i will say they ride pretty poorly and aren't the best for skid stops. Well see if i get a flat though. I would like to see if cyclocross tires could fit on my bike though, if they did i would have 0 clearance.

I have a pair here you can try out Larsen, it seems unlikely they will fit though.

I concur. This was the most fun I had last year on a ride. No way I'm going through all the effort of borrowing that truck and trailer this time, though. I may borrow the lights and generator and bring speakers again, as that stuff proved very useful.
Ridazz bus?
I bet we get double the headcount this year.

Both of these trips I loved last year.
Sam, I just hope you bring your generator. Anything else will be gravy!
BBD has these Ion 15 inch speakers with a subwoofer that he is bringing. That's five speakers in all! Should be awesome!

Yeah, that generator that Sam had was sooooooooooooo much quieter than the one Scott brought to the poker ride.
