I LOCKED MY BIKE WITH A U LOCK AND EVERYTHING

ya shit happens. Wilshier/Vermont area is hot. My bike was locked up on the shatto entrance of metro for like 3 hours. come back and no saddle. only laughed to myself :P
fun riding a wtfmtb bike like a bmx.

Lesson learned. Everyone, lock your saddle as well. Even if you think your POS bike from Toys R Us isn't worth stealing. You're better off WITH a seat.

i really wanna see what eddie has to say about this. he is always talking about how we should use u locks to lock up our bikes and not use cable locks.

There has got to be a way to use a locking bolt for the saddle.

Use a U-lock AND a cable lock.
Yes, it sucks to carry around locks that way half as much as your bike does, but it's nice to have stuff stay where you left it.

Remove the quick release on your saddle and use a metric hex bolt. At least they crooks will have to carry around the proper tools.

You can also take your seat with you, which is what I do sometimes. That brings all the crap on in the seat bag and on the seat post rack with me, including the pump. Convenient and not a hassle.

you increased the chances of having your bike fucked with by leaving it in a high traffic area. not even high traffic with people watching just a large volume of people walking through it. therefore increasing the chances of knuckleheads your bike will run into.
my bike is either in plain sight or out of sight
