Bike Town Beta 3
May 29, 2010
Noon to Midnight
West Hollywood
http://midnightridazz.com/viewStory.php?storyId=4767
We are in the early stages of planning Bike Town Beta 3. We are imagining a huge Midnight Ridazz collaborative bicycle festival. There will be mini rides and races, parties, art shows, live music and so much more. We need all MR organizers to get involved. The main jobs we need filled are event hosts. We need ride organizers to plan mini rides and races, clubs to organize BBQ’s and parties, cacophonies to scheme parades and food fights, activists to assemble yellow bike programs and business discounts, bike co-ops to set up workshops, freaks to conspire parking structure zoobombs and pillow fight foot down, and you to do what you do. We also need promotional artwork designed, fliers and posters made, and silk-screens burned. Start thinking about what you want to contribute.
Website coming soon.

SOUNDS EXCELLENT!
but is this West Hollywood?

If we promote it as a Ridazz Event perhaps we will get a good turn out? Can we get some rides to the event? WE need Crank Mob numbers for this to event to be epic and memorable. Is Richtotheie involved? Onethirynine? Roadbloche? Funderstorm? Let's get a flyer image so we can send it around! Only a Month away!

I think Trickmilla might be implying or at least concerned about the bad reputation of The West Hollywood Sheriff. Don't let that rainbow logo fool ya. I have had many bad experiences with them and find that they are really tough on loitering laws, noise ordinance, and the like. I'm not naysaying, but just stating a concern.

Just had an idea, what about a tall bike scavenger hunt? We get four people on tall bikes, Andres? Stilline? Alec? Someone else? Have them roam around randomly with tickets. The first person to track them all down, get tickets from each of them and get back to a central meet points wins something. My first thought on a prize was a free year or month at a bike co op? Veronica and Chicken leather is the only people I know from co ops, but maybe if the other spots agree we could have the person choose the nearest one to them?

Md2! Great idea! I still have your mini bikes and after 2 semesters of teaching bike classes to kids I wouldn't mind helping out with a kids on bikes event where we can help parents teach their kids to ride a bike, and for the kids that already know how to ride we can set up a course and teach etiquette and signal techniques...
I think we would need to find a biz with a parking lot, parents would (obviously) need to be present at all times... If we got a couple of those wooden pedal-less bikes it's a lot easier to teach new to biking kids how to ride....
