The Acura ride route will be closed off Saturda 3rd in the evening and no cars will be on it. Who's in ,,Im gonna ride it before the tour .
I am not chrashing the tour or doing this in a negative way..Just wanna ride thru the city without worrying about cars or lights for one day out of the year...
Im not making any political or social statement for or against the tour..Im simply riding..Who's in ,Let's do this
Imagine-we go out,hit some bar or have some drinks and start riding after last call.

Your all a bunch of sillys. Go down there sunday morning and just show up. It probably harder to go and registart then just riding in it.
Start at the colosium or USC. It's packed, jam packed with bicyclist and their bikes. See what a traffic jam involving bikes is all about, just like sitting in traffic in your car, but your sitting in traffic on your bike, without the noise. The majority of the participants probably ride only once a year (judging by the looks of there brand new 2-5year old showroom perfect condition bikes.)
Go and see and be part of it at least once, it real crowded, its full of people that drive to work every morning in their cars, this time they are in traffic jams on their bikes instead of cars. They are precious!(just cause you ride a bike once, it don't make you cool).
Have fun and I'll see you down there. Oh yeah, you can do whatever you want, get drunk, dress in a diaper, we protested the war last year. There was alot of participants who didn't like that. Heard lots of you know what comments. This is a real critcal mass ride, accept it has a route and the streets are closed down.

Like I said..
This is not a protest or anything like that. I just figured that miles of closed street were a waste. We are doing this way before the actual race starts..we are not trying to get in any one's way or route. We are just riding the closed off streets. Around 2 or 2:30 am
After last call,,yeah..Im still trying to get correct time..
This post is not to ride the actual Tour.Although I will probably go check it out later on..
Who's in ..hope' this clears it up.

SOrry Sorry,
I didn't get what you where getting at.....how can I delete my comments?
Whats wrong reading comprehension? can we blame it on the LAUSD? I doubt it. Maybe I should stay off these threads, instead of spending an hour of my life writing something that doesn't pertain to the posting.
sorry

I think you will lack parking at the end spot but lets infomally vote on meeting place.
I was going to post the meeting place to be in front of BAR 107 or CITA in downtown and riding up to starting point.
This will aloow me to down a few, exit the bar and start riding.Either way I can meet you at starting point.

how far away is the bar from the start point? will i be able to park my car there and then leave it till the marathon is over? i dont want to pay 10 bucks to park after paying 35 to register and get a shirt that isnt my size.

I don't drink so I was just hoping to meet the group when the biking was getting under way. It seems like 4th/Main is way out of the way if people are starting the route at MLK/Fig, so I would probably just go there.

We can meet up at bar which is not really far from starting point. less than 2 miles.
Or else please wait up for us at stsrt point on Fig/King we should arrive arounf 2:30 -2:40

It was fun. About 15 showed up. We invaded the start point looking for the spandex warriors who arrived early, but couldn't find any. Then we pissed off the people working on the start point and then decided to roll out on the route. I cut out around 4:15 because i was exhausted so i'm not sure if anyone did the complete route.

A few of us rolled in just past the hairpin turn onto Jefferson so that we could avoid getting caught in the massive bike jam further back. It worked great, I've never enjoyed the tour so much. Ran across Ruinedbyidiots, Agent Orange (doin' the double), and SoapBoxLA along the way. I'll be throwing some pics up here later, but in the meantime you can see the full set at:

that shit was alot of fun. not worth the 37 bones (47 with parking) but fun none the less.
agent orange was two or three people in front of me at the start. riordan got on the microphone and started saying how if you go slower than 9mph youll get kicked off and if you go faster than 15mph youll get kicked off and if you go faster than the motorcycle escorts up front youll get kicked off. that got alot of BOOOOOOOOS to which i replied "i was saying booo-urns!"
the hairpin wasnt as brutal as i thought it was. the wind is what was killer.
rollers - after jordan and i passed you in the car i realized that i did pass you a bunch of times because i recognized your bag.

rollers..... what's the deal with your number? LOL did you make that?!
Roadblock03.4.07 - 5:44 pm

OK, just put some pics up here on the MR site.
About my bib: yeah, I had a lot of people ride up behind me and ask in all apparent seriousness, "What did you do to get that number?", but oddly enough no one said anything about it being about 55,000 past the highest bib number I saw otherwise, or noticed my other, err, "alterations". So I just shrugged and said, "You just have to know the right people".

at the beginning of the ride down that first straight away, everyone was spread out across the entire street. but by mile four or five, everyone was pretty spread out and i didnt see anyone riding on the left. everyone stayed in the right lane, like they were riding with traffic or whatever. i dont know why, but that suprised me.

I booked it after we were on Figueroa..everyone was hanging out and looked like we were not gonna continue. I know for sure I was the first to go thru the start point past the security that kicked us out.
I finished on my own.
Dingo and I buying $5 dollars worht of beer from a Pirate taxi was classic.
Us rolling and getting lost on the route when we had a map ib our hans was good.
bums cheering us at skid row was great..
we easily could have rolled 100 200 deep.Cops and city workers did not care.
Maybe next year,

totally got lost on the first run through despite having maps and blocked off streets. oh well. I didn't intend to run the whole thing, but did it anyway. Dingo, John, Nick and I made fake bibs on lined paper with sharpie. No one running the ride gave a shit at all. Definitely fun, and I'm glad I didn't pay 35+ for it.

damn, now I wish I hadn't cut out early (I left with dan (dude, I must have been tired I can't believe I kept fucking up your name) and some other dude who's name I didnt catch when we hit 11th), but then again, my total mileage for the night was 4 miles short of a metric century... and so i'm sure my posterior was thankful...
at least I made it for most of the fun night...

I was going to say something about how I've climbed that hill on my old 25 dollar peugeot frame, fixed gear, with a slipping seat and wobbly bottom bracket... in jeans, a hoodie and with a bag that weighs more than my bike... but that might just be insulting to someone with a what, $3000 21 speed bike and $300 worth of spandex kit...

I crashed on this ride, but I'm alive.
When someone is yelling "on your left, On Your Left, ON YOUR LEFT!!" that means that he/she is coming up on YOUR LEFT, so don't pull over to your left. In fact, you should be looking over your shoulder before you make any type of move.
There... I said it.
