i purchased one today!
(yaihh take that up your asses bicycle theives)
we'll the clerk at the bike shop said i can sign up online to get something like insurance,well smart move of me i forgot the site,dose anyone here know that site's name?

I think you only get your money back if you can show them the broken lock which makes it fucking worthless!

yeah and if they use a power tool to get through the lock, then you're shit out of luck. and since you kind of HAVE to use a power tool to get through those locks, it's pointless to get the insurance. but meh

Yeah just by coincidence, I picked up one of these today too. I just read the guarantee and it's covered for a max of three years. You have to have the receipt for the bike and the lock. You have to have the bike locked to a pole or immoveable object. No flames, battery or electrical tool could have been used to cut this lock.
It sounds like a pain and I don't have a receipt for my bike. I'm outa luck on this.

for the most part thieves are lazy and opportunistic.
they love to snatch the easy target.
There is still an insane number of bikes around town secured with crappy cable locks, and lets face it, operating some bolt cutters is alot more discreet than pulling out a portable grinder and making a hellish racket and tons of sparks for 5 minutes .
If somebody can get away with grinding off my lock, i probably don't want to be parking in that spot.
