Nathan, I will be reserving camping for about 20 now and will release them or get more as time gets closer. A definite RSVP will be needed by August 14th.
I hope to sail there myself on Friday. There's room for about 6 ridazz and bikes on the sailboat. It's a good 8 hour sail to Avalon versus 45 minutes taking the Catalina Express Ferry. I know mk4524 wants a space and so does jchungerford (our mighty KING).
As far as bike riding on Catalina, Avalon itself is easy and flat and a great place to mosey about by bike. There's a paved road to the Airport at mid-island. That is a 10 mile, 1500 foot climb and on my personal "to ride" list. Mtn. bikers can explore pretty much anywhere on the island.
