Not sure if you've ever heard of a place called Donut Man in Glendora (ya I know that's far) but he makes a fresh fruit preserve filled donut. *Amazing*
I used to work at Winchell's as a field marketing manager.
I quit for several reasons, one being I was eating too many oil cakes too often.
I'd walk into a store first thing in the morning, take a wiff of the stock coming out of the fryer and I was a gonner.
I still love the little suckers, though.
10 years later, there are still a few store managers who give free donuts:)
I always wanted to do a repeat of the Bad Idea Donut ride. Probably my favorite rides ever. Started at the Aviation train station at 10pm. We hit up something like 8 donut shops in 65 miles. Last donut shop was the mecca of donut shops, The Donut Man. The ride finished at the end of the Gold Line station 8am in the morning. Everyone ate a donut or half a donut at each stop. The last stop was of course a full donut.
Would love to do a tribute to this ride. Even the spoke cards were awesome!
I've got a 50-mile, 5 donut shop route I've never done and also want to plan a ride out to Donut Man and The Donut Hole. Both definitely too long for our Wednesday ride, but some weekend when I have some extra time......
Sorry, guys. Yeah, after trying for a while to find the "perfect" weekend, finally had to admit that there wasn't going to ever be one and just schedule the damn thing. And, after a couple weeks of not riding much, I need to get out there.
Everyone they showed riding in that video had terrible form. Doesn't it hurt to ride bowlegged with your arms locked straight? That's still a good idea for a ride though.
