end critical mass?

I saw this FB group and am a little torn on how to feel. It's aimed to the SD community but I kind of feel their pain here in LA. What they are saying is that "What started as a peaceful demonstration has degraded to a purposeless excuse for lawlessness and harassment of the general public" and I feel that is what LACM is starting to be like if it is not already.

Some will argue that, that is what a CM is for, but I personally feel it should be more of a presence and less of a taunt. It seems like many riders are trying to piss drivers off instead of encouraging them to get on a bike. When friends of friends who don't ride, find out I ride in "those" rides, most of the time I get a negative reaction, and the few that "got" what we were trying to do, were too afraid to come out due to the mob mentality many riders are representing. IDK maybe it's time to hit the reset button, start at a new location or something. I hate to say it but I kind of agree with what they are saying.

YES lets the critical mass ride end naturally. Not at Peoples Ride or Pan Pacific Park.

Unfortunately the ending of LA's Critical Mass may do more harm than good. Yes the ride has troubles. That means complaints should go to the ride leader for reform. Rides are always going to have issues deal with it. Ending one of the largest bike rides in America won't help the bike scene. So I say if you don't like LACM stop going tell your friends to stop going.

Woo boy, I thought you were on to us! Yes SDPD have their hands full over there too. Their department is even looking at us for possible solutions! I guess they don't really watch the news.

I bet if you asked 100 riders what Critical Mass means to them, you'll get 100 different answers. It's not a ride anyone can just cancel. It's not just a M.R. posted ride, it's on a lot of websites.
I go to LACM now just for the pure fun of riding with 100's of other riders. I'm one of those that like the HUGE rides over smaller ones.
Nobody ever posts a giant ride opposite LACM....maybe it should be done???
I gave up giving a shit about LACM a while ago..... I just go to ride now.

it should end and start over with a clean start
Because the one now isn't helping anyone it doesnt give drivers any respect for us
this ride blocks traffic runs red light doesn't even let pedestrians cross the street
Those are some of the reasons I don't go.

Um I can name about 100 rides where they block red lights and role through them. I think the people who treat Critical Mass like a party need to leave LACM.

Yes. Please. But don't just end it, replace it with something better (*not* just Critical Mass 2.0).

I wish we had music on CM rides. That was part of the original fun, people wore funny costumes and played great tunes and motorists really got a kick out of it. :)

I do agree with having a critical mass with a different start point for people who people who don't like how critical mass the way LACM has manifested.
But LACM will never die.
Just multiply.

Or I'll finally get my megalomaniacal skills together and turn it into "Critical Lass".
We'll all ride Penny-Farthings whilst wearing kilts and playing "O-Solo-Mio" on bag-pipes.

IDK PC I like the idea of LACM 2.0
What would be a better start point?
Maybe we should give it a try? If a few key riders start it up at a new spot it just may work. LACM old skool style, costumes music and positive vibes, I like it already.

Sometimes I just ride around the area on my own trying to fill the area with more bikes the way Bike Town Beta would. You could encourage people to do that using the name Bike Town Beta or not. Or if you want to ride with a group that obeys traffic laws you can start a Critical Manners ride.
