Why do you need to hijack it? Whats wrong with just crashing it? I don't get it.

I like how the ad doesn't say HEY METRO HERE! I'M A METRO STOP TOOO!! WHEEEE! no it says drive and park $.
I'm down for a stroll, but it directly conflicts with the swapmeet.
Breakfast afterwards?

the rules are LAME the ride is going to get split up so fast.
the rules
"This is a fun ride, not a race. Our goal is to introduce you to some unique sites in downtown L.A. The average speed of the ride will be 10-15 mph. Riders must stay in the group and follow the directions of the RIDE MARSHALLS. All traffic rules, light signals, and traffic regulations must be followed. Helmets are required for all ride participants."
ha ha what are these "RIDE MARSHALLS" going to be wearing is what im wondering

Yeah it's pretty lame they don't prominently pass on the point that you could easily use the Red Line to get there. It does give some reference to the metro station in the "location" tab. They definitely could have done a better job promoting their subway line.

i was under the impression that the ride would have a police escort. guessing that is who the marshalls are.

I'm going!
Maybe the marshalls will cork...;)

Yeah, I went to the meeting and and explained all things necessary to plan the event. I guess that was all they needed. I emailed Jim last month cause the date we set was comming close, but he had said they already planned it and thanked me. I do remember someone voicing concern about our MR rides and 'this loud thumping music'. I figure they want to keep it family and not have a type of association with MR.

Awesome, you have to sign a waiver to ride your bike on public streets.

Must be alot of people named Marshall to be collected and put on the front lines as corkers.
Not even real, Marshals could get this shit under control.

That ride was rad! The early birds got the worms, that's for sure. Yummy worms like free folders and shiny beach cruisers for the summer. The corkers got their just desserts...
but somewhere on 2nd I lost the little red thingie on my bell ...popped right off. I went back to search for it...no luck.

That was a fun ride. I overheard lots of people saying: "this is my first group ride" and "I don't normally ride on the streets". It was a well organized event with the police corking with only one cruiser. Carlos from East side bike club was also doing a good job helping with the ride. It was nice to see young kids out having fun riding downtown on a Sunday with relatively light traffic.
Hopefully some of those more pedestrian cyclist will find MR and join rides.
