I need help with my cranks, can anyone suggest a good bike shop around L.A.
Or should I just go to the bike kitchen??
I had a pretty bad experience with safety cycles on western so I'm kinda
sketchy when it comes to bike shops.

I didn't even get that far.
I needed a stem extender for my threadless headset and this korean dood was giving me this totally incompatible piece of crap and kept insisting that it would work...

that exact thing happened to me there.
every bike shop in town has at some point fucked up a customer's bike, and if you have other people work on your bikes, mistakes will eventually happen. at least if you're working on your own bike, you will learn something, and hopefully be able to fix it again yourself, sometimes even on the side of the road.
bikes aren't hard. if you haven't been to the kitchen, you'll love it.

If you are in the valley.Cycle World on Reseda off Parthenia
You can get berated, find out why CRANK MOB sucks and get a serious education on metal music all while getting your cranks fixed.

Thanks guys
I've decided to take Tortuga's advice and work on the cranks myself.
I got me a crank puller and got the bottom bracket out.
Ordering a replacement bracket right now
It really isn't hard like he said.
You just need the right tools.
I'm still planning to go to Echo park cycles & The Kitchen coz they sound like
really cool places. and to "Ruined"
Yes I am but how do I know you aren't and when I get to
your house you get me wasted and I wake up in a bathtub naked with no Kidneys?
Sorry,I've been watching too much Jay & Silent Bob....

I too need a haircut – can you bring Big Sexy with you so RBI and I can listen to some grindcore while getting haircuts?
Wait… you’re getting a haircut? Do it yourself hippie! Unless you are going for some feathered (I don’t know what that means and got yelled at by a stylist for being clueless when she was cutting my hair) look, then I guess Sexy would be the person to call.
