Has anyone rode the LA River to Long Beach @ night? How was it? Do you recommend it or am I better off on surface streets? If so, which ones?

 I have done both, if you ride solo, I'd take Central though Compton, super safe. Done it many many times, I just prefer streets to bike paths.

 Thanks Danny. I'm working on putting the finishing touches on a loop route to the Bicycle Casino in Bell Gardens from Downtown LA. I won't be alone.

 We took Long Beach Blvd coming back from the Huntington Beach a couple of weeks ago. That worked out pretty well.
