so... some proposed changes to the valley girl ride:
we are thinking one time it will start at on victory/coldwater and the next time it will start more west/center... we will switch off so that it is easier for east and west valley girls to come to the ride.
Also, we are thinking of switching up the end point. so far we've been ending at goodnight bar for the drink special and the usually good dance music. but the music sucked last night, and it might be cool to end at diff places. THE ONLY REQUIREMENT IS THAT THERE MUST BE DANCING.
And, the new name of the ride is Valley Girls just wanna have fun ride. I'm sure you could have figured out that it was the same ride with a slightly better name, but I thought I'd post that anyways...
anyways, ladies do you like the idea of switching off east/west?
ladies and gents, anyone have any suggestions for cool places to end at?
The witches brew is always a good place its on Parthenia and Woodley. The music sucked because I wasn't djing j/k! But I heard they played electric avenue haha.
where are you all tryign to end? the east or the west?
and does the end spot have to have music?
if you are looking for a bar to end at on the west end of the valley, scotland yard and caseys are right next to each other and both play great music on thrusday nights.
check it outttt

It's the dance requirement that makes this search more difficult. I assume you're trying dance/bar/clubs with a cover charge?
Skinny's Lounge on Lankershim in NoHo has a dance floor/DJ but I *think* they charge a cover after a certain time. CIA in NoHo has a dance floor but definitely charges a cover, I think it's like 5 bucks.
I know there's a bar/club on Van Nuys Blvd in Sherman Oaks, again I think they may charge a cover.
There is a dance club? in Studio City, but I can't recall the name b/c I've never been there (I just know it exists).
I like the idea of going east and west. I think we should find a central location for the meet and every other ride go east then west. i dont think the end always has to be a bar. it is a thursday and people do work i think the end should be different and if a group wants to hit up a bar afterwards thats cool. Dont forget we want to be all inclusive and making the end point a bar everytime excludes and deters underage girls. I always think somewhere to get food and somewhere to get beer is a great place to end the ride and we can always hit up a park or parking lot like we do on other rides and girls who wanna dance can always hit up the dance club afterwards. or every other week we can do good night bar. I just think it will start to get a little to routine to do it every ride. But the drink specials are nice. Its probably to late to change the start point tonight but next time we go west we are going to meet more central than so far east.
I will post the route in the next half hour. Sorry if you guys dont like it, but i wanna make the ride the focus not the end point. This is about riding after all! xoxo
We can always choose to go a different turn to make if we feel like, remember this is everyone's ride not just the ride leader. Its the groups ride. Lets just have fun and do some ridding.
ill be there tonight one way or another! Any ladies heading to the start from the West Valley? We should go together! :) Hit me up! 818 six three two five seven zero one.
I agree, we should make it more central and more accessible.
New start woodley orange line station... figured it was pretty much the middle of the valley, and sfvcm starts there since it is trying to start centrally too.
Last ride we talked about doing it just once a month but doing it bigger and better with a theme each time... this time 80's. So if people have 80's mixes, please bring them! I'll bring some too, but u guys usually have some pretty good music. Also, I looked online for places that have 80's dancing on thurs nights and the only place I found w/o a cover was in noho. So let's start central this time and go east, but next time def def go west.
also, theme for next month tbd... any ideas?
As far as ending at diff places and not staying out super late, I hear you especially since now I have to wake up early for work on friday too :) That's part of the reason why I wanted to do it big just once a month. Also I think we will get more people if it's once a month. The reason for having it end at a bar was first of all for dancing and also because at first the guys were whining about not being allowed on the ride so I wanted to set it up so they could meet us somewhere social after. But having more dancing on the ride, and then ending at a park or taco place or the start or whatever sounds good too. We should switch it up.

I'll try to be there this Thursday, girls! But, not being from the valley, I might need a little help figuring out the logistics. I'm quite content ending in NoHo, because I can hit the red line home. Hopefully. No idea where that orange line stop is, though.
when you get off the red line walk across the street and get on the orange line. Get off at woodley (it'll be about 15/20 min). We'll meet right near the bike racks at that stop.
Or you can bike along the bike lane/path next to the orange line until you get to woodley (about 7 miles)
see you tomorrow! :)

Hi Ayla,
We met tonight randomly at the Liquor Market on Moorpark and Colfax....and I was all about asking you (most likely), one too many questions! lol
But my boyfriend and I were at our apt. down the street, when we heard and noticed the fun MADNESS that was going on only a few steps away from our quiet apt. building!
I was just telling Trevor (my boyfriend), that I was sick of going out with our friends doing the same shit...which entailed doing NOTHING EXCITING in my opinion! I wanted something that got us involved with meeting new people, and an activity where we didn't just sit around doing JACK SHIT! ...and then we saw the bike crew tonight, and we were both beyond intrigued!! ...and so hoping to be part of the next ride (similar to the one we saw tonight!). I'm also interested in being apart of this VALLEY GIRL ride, whenever the next one will be!??! =) Since I joined this site as of a few moments ago; specifically to learn about what I saw and heard tonight...I'm not sure how to really navigate myself around this webpage as of yet.....but as of right now, I was able to find the "VALLEY GIRL ride" you spoke of, and stoked about it! =) ...and hoping to see what other bike rides there are, that Trevor and I, or even just I....will be able to be apart of!
!
Until then,

=)! See ya soon!
Welcome to Midnight Ridazz. I am glad you found the ride and this site. There are many types of rides and as you can see to the right they happen virtually every night. Once you poke around the site for awhile you will see how it works. Read the About the Ridazz section and don't be afraid to ask questions. I am happy I found this site.
Ride on!

Hey Foldie,
Were you by chance on the Ride that took place on Sept. 23rd, where I so happily came across the midnight ridazz for the first time; to refresh your memory of which ride I'm talking about, it was the one that had a meeting place at a MARKET ON Colfax and Moorpark. The reason I'm asking is, I know there are MANY rides throughout the valley....but the one THAT night seemed to be a GREAT and fun group of people! (which most likely every crew is kick ass!) However, since that particular one was the ride that SPARKED my curiosity, I'd really like to follow THOSE RIDAZZ for their next ride.
As well as the VALLEY GIRLS ride I know Ayla is putting together!
=)
Thanks for the WELCOME!! & I look forward to ridding with you ALL soon!

Welcome aboard! Yeah I believe that ride was Barchopz. A really fun ride you two should catch is Midnight Ridazz: Where the Wild Things Ride. And it's in the valley!
Hey Ayla,
I know you posted this great idea of yours months ago at this point....but I wanna make sure to take part whenever it ends up goin' down.
Also, if I didn't ask last time I wrote, what was the actual "NAME of the RIDE" back on Sept. 23rd when I met you in that Market on Colfax and Moorpark? I wanna see if I can take part on the next one with that crew.
The other thing is, I have a mountain bike that's a bit OLD SCHOOL, but a great, not to mention FAST bike (even though I'm not too fast on it myself! LOL)....but it definitely needs some cash dumped into it if I wanna actually RIDE IT. But, I also have a beach cruiser, which I know isn't the fastest thing (ONE SPEED)....but I love it! & HAVEN'T even had a chance to ride it by the beach yet, hence the reason I got it in the first place.
But, if something like my beach cruiser would be able to keep up with the Valley girl ride, or most rides for that matter.....I'd be STOKED, and could start ridding in 10 minutes!~
Let me know.
Yeah I thin Matt is right and that was Barchopz which is super chill pace so a beach cruiser would be fine. If you check the rides most will have a pace listed to help people plan. Most party rides will be chill pace for beach cruiser but there are fast rides out there that would not be good for a beachy.
You should try to come out to the 2nd Friday (Oct 9th) ride which is heading to the valley this time.
I started on a folding bike and have moved to better faster bikes since then.
Monday night rehab is a good ride too.

THANKS MATTSPEED!
I appreciate the help, and suggestion for the other "ride" for that matter; since I'm kind of a DEER in HEADLIGHTS at this point with WHICH rides to go on).
I was hoping my boyfriend would wanna roll out with me as often as I know I'll want to go. However since most likely 95% of the time it will be me ridding solo, or with a friend or two....I'm trying to figure out a variety of fun rides we can jump on board with!
Being unemployed seems to allow me a LOT of free time that many don't have the pleasure of having...so before I'm CHAINED BACK DOWN with some office job again....I wanna get in as much ridding & enjoying my FREEDOM as possible! lol
Ideas, suggestions and thoughts are MUCH APPRECIATED!!!
=) Thanks again!~
Catliz

FOLDIE! this Friday would be AWESOME! Thanks for the HEADS UP!!
Since I'm still getting used to this site, how do I keep abreast of what's goin' on with that particular ride; and btw, what's the actual name of it, and where is everyone meeting??
(since I believe the "END of the ride" is discussed once everyone is ready to "HEAD OUT" that night! correct?)
ANNNNNNNNNNNND, Rides that will be A-ok with my cruiser's speed...ARE DEFINATELY the types of rides I'm basically lookin' for; at least for now!
=)

On the right sidebar area ------------------> has the most recent rides that are coming up. Click on one that looks interesting and they should have a pretty good description of the ride, where it starts, the pace, where it ends and what time to meet. For rides in the future you can click on the ride calendar link at the top of the page.
I don't think there is a summery thread of all the valley rides, but I am sure if you have questions about any rides you can ask and someone will point you in the right direction,
To start off here is the link for friday's ride with all the pertinent information:
I'm so glad you found the site and the ride!! Sorry I didn't respond for so long... I was crazy busy and didn't have a chance to check the forum... But you should totally come on valley girl ride this thursday!! This month's ride will be the Fern Gully ride, so dress up as something from that movie - a fairy or a tree or something... everyone usually dresses up and it's really fun :)
We will meet at the woodley orange line station (near woodley and victory) at 8 and ride at 8:30. It's a really chill slow ride - your cruiser should be fine. And if you have friends who want to come too but don't have a bike I have a mountain bike someone could borrow. Send me an email if that's the case - aylastern (at) gmail (dot) com.
Valley Girl ride is always the third thursday of the month (except for november we'll do something different cuz of thanksgiving) and it's always a great time!!
The ride you saw when we ran into you in the liquor store was barchopz! Also a good ride, but I think that was the last one :(
HOPE TO SEE YOU ON THURSDAY!!!! :) (unless it rains... hopefully it wont!!)

I'm sorry I can't make this week, even though I promised I would - I have a horrid work function to attend (Los Angeles County's Most Business Friendly City Awards, I shit you not). Next month I SWEAR!!!
I'd like a chill-paced ride at or around my neighboring cities (no offense to Bicykillers, but I'm just not in that great of a shape at the moment) and partake in an aparitif or two. Libations aside... I really just haven't been on my bike much and would rather ride around in a group than on my own thanks to all these careless drivers we seem to be hearing about non-stop nowadays.
Oh, and I hear they tie your scrotum to their seat posts and just DRAG you around to teach you not to show up to their ride in DRAG.

@ Girl Power: There's a strip mall across the street from Que Ricos with a Bally's, Albertsons (not sure on this one) and a bunch of other little stores. I'm sure you can park there without a problem... otherwise good luck finding parking on the streets around there, not that there couldn't be any.

We joked about your post tonight! Ayla thought it would be hysterically funny if you had a Valley Boys Ride that met up across the street at McDonald's and you followed us! LOL
Well, we had a blast tonight! We are inviting the valley girls to the Monday Night Rehab ride from now on.
If you're looking for a spot that's relatively in the middle on a Thursday night. On Reseda and Ventura there's a place called "The Little Rock." They always have good drink specials and dancing....
mike, july, vinh - if we really can't tell that you're guys we'll let you come on the ride (and mike, no your spandex alone does not make you look like a girl...)
because it's a girl-only ride it's got a different vibe than all the other rides - people were saying that if we let guys come that vibe would be lost...
for a chill pace noho ride there's always monday night rehab... and if you're looking for a valley boy ride there's always every other ride in the valley... haha jk
hey bicykiller - what time does the ride usually end and how fast do you guys usually go?
we don't go to bars anymore... just every once in a while for special occasions. This is mostly because now I'm employed and have to wake up early.
there should definitely be dancing at yogurt places since yogurt, dancing, and bike riding are 3 of my favorite things... so that would be an awesome time... maybe we'll make it happen...
@mike... confused about what? you said something about how you won't fit into your g/fs clothes but that spandex should be girly enough or something? I'm just saying... I think we'll still know you're a dude...

is this ride really only for the ladies?
I'd Imagine it would be hard to keep it that way... since I'm probably not the first to imagine being the only guy riding with nothing, but pedaling beauties?
Im Stoked...Trying to find somthing cat and the hat
maybe green eggs & ham hmm ;)
Hope my bike works its been really weird brake and wheel wise after i got hit by a car last week
Lol there are plenty of rides ever night
how is it that calling the ride person a jerk community friendly lol
tons of posted rides and 90percent of all MR rides have the women out number 5-1
"so if i come, and i have a weiner, i cant ride with you guys?"
We're the Valley Girls, we're bad, if you're a guy and you show up we just make take your credit card and shop til we drop! And the worst part is you're coming with us and waiting outside the dressing room. *insert wicked laugh*
Okay, just kidding!
Ayla said she would invite boys later in the summer, but not this ride. Toodles!

But seeing how it has the word Men-strual in the ride title, would it be safe to assume that the Order of the Penis would be allowed to partake in your events?
Guys, you are welcome to come on this month's ride IF:
- you bring at least one girl with you
OR
- if you don't have a friend who's a girl, sister, g/f who wants to ride, you can bring a "girl" (guy dressed up as a girl) or you can come dressed up as a girl yourself.
So there should be no guys just showing up with other guys and no girls!! This isn't TNS... ;)
Junk for Joy in Burbank on Magnolia has lots of cheap costumes, one male rider wants to get the naughty nurses costume. Oh, I can't wait for tomorrow night! Weeeeee!!!!!
I didn't realize it falls under the same night the Lakers play the final game of the series. Sadly, neither myself nor Julia, will be able to make it out, seeing how we're huuuuuge Lakers fans. We wish you guys luck. Watch out for drunk drivers.
As cycling’s popularity exploded, a new breed of woman was making her mark in the 1890s. “The New Woman” was the term used to describe the modern woman who broke with convention by working outside the home, or eschewed the traditional role of wife and mother, or became politically active in the woman’s suffrage movement or other social issues. The New Woman saw herself as the equal of men and the bicycle helped her assert herself as such.
I can't miss the 1 year anniversary! I'm making some of my female friends who hardly ride come out to this. Is there a set route for this? Are we going to a yogurt place??? CAN YOU SENSE MY EXCITEMENT?! And! it's the day after my birthday. What an epic week.
