My dream is to coordinate with people who do sound systems so that some how all teh sound systems could be bumping minimal beats & rhythms that are all syncopated to a specific BPM so the sound systems pass each other the music will be in time.
Ha... funny how when I mentioned this ride a year ago nothing but complaints and concerns for safety abounded.
This has got to be the best ride theme ever! Way to make it happen!
Safety first! however you are welcome to bring: Horns, bells, speakers, ipods, drum machines, boom boxes, voices, kazoos, harmonicas, whistles, human beat-boxes, shakers, megaphones, and any other sound makers you can use to "sing along" with the Los Angeles & The Midnight Ridazz!
Sick idea! There has been so many serious advances on the westside's soundbikes, its unparalleled. Jonny alone has two amazing systems. Anyway, they are going through a pirate-radio-type transmitter that can send out 1/4 mile to any FM radio! Maybe thats a good idea for so many soundbikes! Just a thought!
How about Funderstorm?!!! We're totally down you know!
If we had a transmitted soundtrack ... it would be AMAZING!
it would be like the heart beat of the ride!
And Yes we need us some Funderstorm.
I want to have live music at the stops but only bands that can be self contained on their bikes.
Imagine if we circled the trailers ... and you were plaing through all of them with 300 ppl jamming along with bells, and shakers, and ?????
Epic F.U. the the muthafunkin' N.
I'm jazzed everybody is excited!
Form your own bands
make your own songs, chant anthems
we need ride leaders AND song leaders
hit me up if you want to get in the MiXX
I have to admit, after being haunted by this idea for over 2 years, reserving the date about 8 months ago, and hours of planning in the last to months and more than a little scared and a lot excited about next week.
great idea.
I think i'm gonna hit the toy district in DTLA this week and try and dig up some: whistles, bike bells, kazoos, horns, etc. ... no promises tho.
If you like Party Rides, This one should be a doozy.
The World's Biggest Bike Song will be a giant rolling musical bike parade.
Everybody is invited! This is what you should know.
- Safety first. We encourage everybody to participate and make music, but piloting your bike safely is always of primary concern!
- Bring an instrument for your bike, anything is acceptable, bell, horn, whistle, harmonica, voice, or ??? If you can ride your bike can play it safely ... then great! if not, there is always red lights.
- Listen and improvise.
- Mellow pace. Think about the people behind you not the people speeding off the front.
We will have a list of stops and regroups, and a meandering route, so if you get delayed and need to take a short cut, it should be easy to find us. If you got fire in your wheels and need to ride away we won't chase you... we'll see you when we get there.
- Route will be about 15-20 miles with the "end point" about 7 miles from the start.
Ridazz can group up at the finish (1am ish?) and ride back to the start (or back to their respective destinations).
- Be prepared, take responsibility for your own safety, security and well being. We will be riding and playing in Metropolitan Los Angeles after dark. Come prepared with the safety equipment, $$, beverages, and bike supplies you will need for a safe and fun night out. Make sure your bike is in good working order. Check your air pressure and fill your tires, especially if you are riding a cruiser, mountain bike, or foldie.

attn: VALLEY RIDAZZ... Theres a place called "big kid toy shop" on burbank and hazeltine. They have awesome selection of bels whistles and overall anoying noisemakers. It's a fun store.
I hearby declare Midnight Ridazz #80 is dedicated to :
Mr. Poopy Handzz aka The Borfosarus & Mrs. Maria Borfo
and most especially our newest ridaa Noah baby Borfosarus Jr. the 1st
wipe on!
Had a blast. I wasn't to thrilled with the route when I first saw it, but it's a diffrent experience going through familiar areas you go through everyday with 100+ of your fellow ridazz.
Great ride! Good solid vibe from everyone.
Good to see Lousiana and EddieBoy back in the scene.
Had a radical time hanging out with ya'll.
We punched straight through Friday the 13th madness and had a great time..
This was about 10x as large as any ride I have every lead before.
A lot of unexpected things, but with Midnight ridazz, its best not to try and micro manage everything. Once I chilled out about, I had an excellent time.
Highlights:
The unholy cacophony of the 2nd st. Tunnel
The bike lights strung out against Echo Park Lake
The instant Dance party that happened at Antranik's Amazing Amazing sound system
Regroup loopz!
the incredible electric piano that nathansnider and his homey built @ PPP
but most of all it was the vibe.
so many OGs and generally awesome people.
we had several generations of Midnight Ridazz in full effect
and of me that is what really made the night.
to the fella that let me borrow your hand pump: i was pretty buzzed last night and i couldnt remember your face for the life of me.. i didnt wana leave your pump laying there so i brought it with me... you know who you are get at me. i have your pump safe and sound
pretty bummed i missed this ride. i wanted to come out with my baby amp and my sampling keyboard or something cool but things came up and i ended up taking a street cat home in a backpack.

Patrick! I posted some pix on my facebook.. ( http://www.facebook.com/antranik ) I have video i'll upload when I have some time to edit it together.
The spoke card you gave me had the tandem bike with a bicycle sound system... dude!! that's exactly my original vision for the ++ trailer! So cool!!! I have a dope gitane tandem bike I bought exactly for that purpose.
Armand and I will be bringing that out next time. I just need to put some high quality pads on it to safely be able to slow it down when going downhill with all that extra weight and all. (the stoker can be the DJ, haha)
i don't know if I can wait 12 months for the next one.
If I can get a pic of Speedy Brian's recumbo on a white background... i'll use it in future designs.
Should make a new thread on the votes. It's was a great ride and a great reason arot of people would show up; Friday night, End of Summer, No school, in the middle of LA, Music-Noise theme, I could keep going....
this ride was sooooo good. It was just perfect. No police problems, no shitheads, and people were gathering just to play their instruments. I vote for a second one
yeah, amazing theme.. I wish there were more instruments! whoever bought some stuff were awesome, especially percussion instruments <3 !!!
anyway.. did anybody see that one car totally rear end this other when we were going on Sunset I believe? damn that sounded HORRIBLE.. i think the driver was distracted by all of us and he yelled something out his window as he passed by me and then a second later behind me i heard screeching for a fraction of a second and the most powerful crashing sound, he had crashed into a car in front of him stopped at a red :(

Trickmilla! What a great ride idea, what a great ride! Rev. Dak and I bailed a little early because we were tired, and I totally regret it! i heard about Nathan Snider's amazingly amazing amazingness!!
Patrick, you gave me 2 spoke cards that I later on went and gave to 2 other riders that for whatever reason didn't get one... and now I'm out of a spoke card. Think you could save one for me til Brad's RWNN ride this friday?
i pieced together all the video clips i had from my camera representing the night... i have a crappy camera but whatever! it's cool.. at least for me, lol
