another stolen bike

yeah...it happened at the block party. i had it on the rack behind me and was keeping an eye on it, then realized it was getting dark, so i should lock it up. but i guess i was too late.
i don't have any clear pics of it on me, but it's a cream colored surly steamroller. black brooks team pro saddle, thompson seatpost, black soma double gate clips, black leather bar tape, black alex rims. all the stickers except the "steamroller" stickers on the top tube are stripped off.
there's definitely a reward if someone leads to me getting it back.

Your fault? Don't know about that...;(
I was paranoid about my bike that day, too. I moved it at one point in the afternoon to a "safe" location
It just lame that we have to be so concerned about theft even at our own community events!!
I guess every time something like this is planned there's gotta be a bike valet...damn.

Sorry for your lost. Tough lesson to learn but we're in L.A. You leave something valuable unattended, it will get stolen. We wouldn't think of leaving our wallets on the sidewalk or cars unlocked. But when it comes to a bike, we take chances. Too many bikes stolen because of carelessness. C'mon folks we're Angelinos, when did we loose the street smarts?
So much effort wasted after the bike is stolen. Be more proactive, take turns watching unlocked bikes. If you can't lock your bikes leave it in your car and walk. But look at the bright side, you've prevented the theft of a poorly locked bike by leaving yours unlocked.

This sucks when someone loses there bike. Ill keep my eyes open for the cunt that stole ur bike.... I'm sure there stupid enough to ride ur perty bike around town! You know how stupid people are....

sc_nomad is right, we are in los angeles, i'm not from here so maybe i am more paranoid than people who have grown up here or something, but i always lock my bike up, i don't trust very easily
