Decent priced bike shops?

I dont know if its just me or not, but im tired of what seems like ridiculously expensive prices at incycle in san dimas. Anyone know of any good places that i dont have to bend over and grab my ankles at? Im from Glendora but im willing to drive a little bit for some good prices on parts

performance in pasadena perhaps? Lions at 30/Vermont super cheap they might have to order it, but I've never paid for labor there.

ill have to check it out, i mean i dont wanna complain about spending money for decent parts for my bike. i dont mind spending a few bucks for some quality stuff but i hate when i get that sneaking suspicion that im about to get sodomized.

budget pro cycles in eagle rock is a solid store if you don't want to go to performance. the guys are helpful and ive managed to pick up some quality stuff there for reasonable prices.

I would not suggest Lions on 30th/V-mont mainly because they're products are a bitch sketchy. Ask some other rideazz who live around there and get their feedback.

Try Helen's Cycles of Arcadia on 142 E. Huntington Drive. They have a good crew there and their prices are decent.

I work at performance, If you are looking for decent priced stuff for a road bike I suggest going to performance.

spend your money at a local shop. fuck those corporate bitches.
The only thing performance is good for is online ordering. What I have noticed is that when you go into these chain shops, no one knows what the fuck they are talking about and you can't get anyone to help you and you might as well be shopping at fucking wal mart when it comes to customer service.* Go to a smaller, independently owned shop and you are more likely to deal with employees who know their bikes.
*this is personal experience. the experiences of others may vary.

I hear bad shit about anthonys, when It comes to Riverside the dudes at Riverside Cyclery are cool as hell. I do not think performance is that bad if your a weekend warrior

I don't know, Performance is where I found alot of the nice, decently-priced upgrades for my bike.
If I go in there asking for a specific part for normal, everyday functions, then I always felt satisfied going over there.
When there were three local shops up here, J & K was the shit until the owner folded.
I essentially got what I wanted and the owner was quite helpful when it came to the right alternatives.
Not to mention he and his staff were all open to any style of riding and bikes.
The only two remaining shops up here, Hi-Desert Bikes and Victorville Cycles, I try to avoid as much as possible.
All they seem to want is money for the latest and greatest componentry they can pimp.

Open Road in Pasadena is decent. There is expensive stuff but also cheap stuff.
Plus there's a bunny museum in the back!

Richard's Cyclery is about 40 miles from you, not worth a special trip, but if you're in the area, well worth checking out. They been around a long time, good and knowledgeable folks, and a bitchin store to wonder around! Lots of cool classics hanging up! One of these days he said wants to open a museum.
