Myself and couple of friends will be parking away from there, and riding our bikes to it.
I heard this place as kinda haunted, and I was going to take some pictures.
Anybody live down there hit me up if you're brave enough.

this one is a good video. strange sounds from the top of the video which they couldn't hear at the site (0:00). some weird feral growling coming from the boiler room (3:15). listen closely to a strange moaning sound when the camera is pointing at the mirror in he bathroom (8:30).
Yeah..i have been there .. with my sister and her honey (years ago). we got busted by the cops (because i parked in the lot)...they patrol it pretty regularly...so you just have to hit the ground when you see headlights. It is really creepy...there is definitely a strange vibe there. I recommend a flashlight and dark clothing. I live about 10 miles away from there…if you want to use my house as a starting/ending point…let me know.
I'm totally down for this. I used to live off of Firestone and Old River School Road, which is just up the street. Got busted 3 times trying to get in that place. So yeah, count me in. Just tell me when!
Well, big props for user1 showing up.
Sorry if I was a bit brief, but it was a spur-of-the-moment, type of thing.
We met up at the Carl's Jr on Imperial/Garfield at 730Pm.
We must've gotten started around 8ish and didn't stop until 12am.
There was so much ground to cover, we may have only traipsed about 30% of it.
Overall, an amazing experience indeed.
I'll post pictures up in a bit, but I need to get to the gym and put in the usual, 1.5 hrs on the elliptical.
Just got home around, 2am.
I live in downey and I've been there before in the past. the place is huge and haunted for sure. There's a warehouse deal to the right that a friend use to work at and it was haunted on a daily basis. Now its pretty much impossible to get in. The whole place is fenced off with barb wire and is heavily patrolled by the sheriffs. They even have a station in between the two sides of the asylum. Just giving you guys a heads up.
i actually took a group of riders there last october or so. we drank and chilled and spoke about making a race out of it. it's def a cool spot to pass through or end a ride.
i'm gonna get a regular 562 ride happening pretty soon and we'll def make that a regular destination.
and for sure, way back when, in high school, we used to ditch there and hang out. but in about 2000 cops started trolling regularly and they put up that fence and we'd get busted.
This place was a trip!! It's open to drive or ride through. We went through alot of the buildings last night, but I feel we only saw maybe 25% of the buildings. It would be a VERY scary place to go if you go solo. I guess it was kind of scary with 4 peeps. I took some pics last night but I can't find my cam. I'm sure B-rida has some good ones. If you do go, it's best to leave everything as you found it. Nothing f#cks up shit like this like some idiot setting something on fire or busting something up.
I don't know! But it was creepy! Looks like this is or was a cold storage room. I don't have a clue what that crap is, but it gave me the heebiejeebies!
This place reminded me so much of my constant hours of playing Resident Evil and Silent Hill.
The abandoned medical equipment, furniture tossed around, shell-casings all over the place.
