Bike rentals (ideally in E.Hollywood/Silver Lake)?

The in laws are coming to town next week and I am trying to find a place with decent bike rentals. Ideally a decent road bike given their usual preferences, but we'd settle for something more upright. The only other time I've done this was with crappy mtn bikes near the Santa Monica pier and would like to not repeat that overpriced gear slipping experience.

This NY Times writer used Bicycle Ambulance. No personal experience w/ them, though. http://tinyurl.com/268f6qg
I think Bicycle Ambulance is based on the westside, though.
Also, what about Neighbor Goods?

Might not be exactly what you want. I would check out this place.

Depending on the time. You might be able to buy a couple of lower end bikes on the cheap and resell them when they leave.

Probably too late for your specific request, but I think D.T.L.A. Bikes now offers rental bikes (new & used). Haven't tried them yet so don't know how the rates are.

I was talking to a roadie a few days again and she recommended a shop in pasadena were you can rent crazy road bikes (ie. carbon framed with all the trimmings etc.) for $65 per week and whatever you spend on rentals gets credited towards your next bicycle purchase through the shop...Sounds awesome right? Only, I cannot remember the name of the shop I'm getting over a head injury. Also, try iMartin on beverly.

I'll have to check into that Pasadena store for next time. Dayone very kindly has offered to loan me a couple of bikes. Yay dayone!
I have fond memories of renting Schwinn tandems on Macinac Island (no cars allowed!) as a kid, but I'm not sure I (or my relationship) could handle one here.
