The Passage of a Few People Through a Rather Brief Moment in Time #306: Celestial Reasonings

One or more persons during a certain period drop their usual motives for movement and action, their relations,
their work and leisure activities, and let themselves be drawn by the attractions of the terrain and the
encounters they find there.
It's a bike ride.
Started by user nathansnider and user theroyalacademy.
It meets every Wednesday at 8:30pm at California Donuts #21.
We ride at 9pm.
On the seventh year of this bike ride, you might expect:
- more inconvenient passageways
- more full moon picnics
- perhaps more "cover" versions of other people's rides, performed with amateurish enthusiasm
- certainly more amateurish enthusiasm
- disorientation
- reorientation
- pool halls
- bowling alleys
- dance parties
- karaoke
- imaginary histories
- scavenging for fun and sustenance
- more geocaching
- more oblique strategies
- more Oulipian constraints
- traffic median tea parties
Furthermore:
- A medium pace (maybe not for beginners; certainly not a hustle)
- We're not in a rush; we don't need to run every light.
- Maybe some distance;maybe some hills
- Victory donuts!

Celestial Reasonings
***We are having a tea party tonight! If you have a cup and a means to carry it, we recommend that you do.
And if you are able, on such short notice, to bring tea-appropriate food, we are sure that it would also be
greatly appreciated!***
Though it is a full moon tonight, we had not (even as recently as an hour ago) been intending to have a picnic-
like event. Well, actually, that is not entirely true. Originally, we were kind-of sort-of thinking about it but got
sidetracked and post-rationalized that it was probably too cloudy to really enjoy the moon anyway, so why
bother with a picnic? Such was our reasoning.
But sometimes the stars - or the planets, or whatever - align, and new opportunities present themselves. So
we are indeed having a picnic-like event! Specifically, we are having a tea-making and -drinking event, in a
most appropriate location. We have some teas and some cups and some water and a means to heat it, but if
you are able to bring a cup of your own, or any tea or tea treats that you'd like to share, then by all means
please do!
Given the tendency of good things to drown in their own goodness, we may show up at our tea-making and -
drinking location only to find that it has become a total scene, scarcely a day after it first appeared. In that
case, we may need to seek a different location, guided by whatever ephemera and ephemerides we find at
our disposal. Whatever happens, it will be a bike ride.
