On Friday, July 28, 2006 Moonshadows became an important turning point for Mel Gibson in the court
of public opinion. If only he'd been riding a bicycle instead of driving a car, things would have SURELY gone
differently. In attempt to compensate for Mr. Gibson's woeful bikelessness we cordially invite all ridazz to
participate in
The Passion of the Bike!

Moonshadows will once again be an important turning point for Mel Gibson... only this time it will be in an
alternate dimension in which he rode a bicycle off the set of one of his films!
Dress as your favorite character from a Mel Gibson Movie!
Find a kilt, wear a crown of thorns, dig up some light denim and a print button-up or come up with something
infinitely better!
Braveheart theme recommended, costumes are not mandatory but they will serve to make you feel more at
home as we ride along the PCH to the tune of theme songs from his many films (not exclusively but certainly
part of the time).
If the five oh hassles our procession, all Mell Gibson's will be expected to start yelling out racial slurs that
don't make any sense! Slur your own race, call the asian cop a "wop," the less sense it makes, the less
offensive and more fun it actually is.
Cops along that road have been paying special attention to cyclists lately but most of their concern is due to
wreckless drivers and cyclist deaths along the hwy--a tip from one of their own officers was 'single file
lineup.' Do this when they show and we're OK.
We'll start in front of the bike shop on the boardwalk just south of the santa monica pier (in the "old muscle
beach" behind lowes). From there we'll ride up the bike path and then take the PCH up the coast to
Moonshadows where we'll share in a commemorative toast. After that, we'll turn around and head back
down the PCH to Santa Monica's main st where we'll bar hop our way to abbott kinney, then down venice bl
to the boardwalk where we'll head back up to our starting point for tipsy playtime on the gym equipment in the
sand.
