EASTSIDE BIKE CLUB - BLESSING OF THE CYCLISTAS

Every August, the Los Angeles City Birthday Celebration commemorates the anniversary of the founding of the
City of Angels in 1781.
This family-friendly event begins with the annual Los Pobladores historic re-enactment, a nine-mile walk
from San Gabriel Mission to El
Pueblo de Los Angeles (now known as Olvera Street).
This year the EASTSIDE BIKE CLUB (ESBC) has been asked to escort the Official 1st Annual Los
Angeles City Birthday Celebration BIKE
RIDE -Taking the same route to Olvera Street.
We will be creating LA HISTORY this day as we embark on this trek with our modern day horses -

ESBC is proud to bring you another 1st for Los Angeles Cyclist as we present the "BLESSING OF THE
CYCLISTAS (Bike Riders)
There will be several family activities at Olvera Street which includes a civic ceremony, Artisan
demonstrations, Live Entertainment, Chalk
Walk, FREE entrance to several Museums that surround the Olvera Street grounds and free birthday
cake!
LADOT, LAPD, Los Angeles County Bike Coalition (LACBC) will also be on hand providing support for this
ride.
ALL PARTICIPANTS should arrive no later than 7:15 in order to sign a waiver form and get a wristbands.
ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST
WEAR A HELMET.
This ride will travel at a pace of 10 miles per hour and is FAMILY FRIENDLY.
