START TIME: 6 pm - ride at 6:30
MEET: Flagpole at the corner of Figueroa and York in Highland Park
If you can't make it on time - no worries!
Call (310) 902-5439 and the ride organizers will provide directions to the next stop on the ride. If you're driving from far away, a good place to park would be either by the intersection of Fig. and York, or adjacent to the Bike Oven (where the afterparty is held). Located at 130 W. Avenue 42, 90065.
Spoke(n) Art Ride is a bicycle tour of art galleries in North East Los Angeles organized with the help of the Bike Oven and the Arroyo Seco Neighborhood Council.
Every Second Satruday of the month NELA Art coordinates with dozens of galleries in the area to open their doors until the wee hours. The Spoke(n) Art ride travels to about 7 or 8 galleries in a night, stopping at each one for about 10 to 20 minutes at a time. It is a slow paced ride that winds its way through Highland Park, Glassel Park, Eagle Rock, and Cypress Park.
The variety, depth, and sheer number of artists and art galleries in the area make each Spoke(n) Art ride a unique experience.
The ride ends with a flaming pinata at around 10 p.m. at the Bike Oven for an after party (beer is provided, but BYOB is recommended). The Armadillo Alley Rat races kick in at about 11 p.m. (bring your a-game, suckas!).
