Bike Maintenance Skill Share:
Basic maintenance keeps your bike parts lasting for as long as possible. Bring your bike and we will help you oil it and make adjustments.
Presentation on pedal powered machines(bici maquinas) that are made at Maya Pedal in Guatemala where the Raices Roots ride is going to learn more and help with projects at Maya Pedal.
Presentation on how to do a long distance bike ride on a low budget.
Discussion on what is sustaiability and how can we get there.
After the presentations:
Work on your own bikes with the assistance of volunteer bike michanics.
Make jewlery or crafts out of used bike parts and other comon items that are often concidered useless.
Some of our riders are artists and their hand made creations will be available for sale at the event.
Woody will play the Bamboo Clarinet.
Snacks will be provided.
Donations will be requested to cover materials for the skill shares as well as to help the Raices Roots Ride travel through Mexico on bikes.
After the event (around 6pm) we will ride bikes to Earth Day Latino (Free event, Los Angeles State Historic Park is located at 1245 N. Spring Street) http://wcvi.org/community/earthday.html and spend the night, so bring camping gear!
