The Passage of a Few People Through a Rather Brief Moment in Time #96 - The Big Questions?

One or more persons during a certain period drop their usual motives
for movement and action, their relations, their work and leisure activities,
and let themselves be drawn by the attractions of the terrain and the
encounters they find there.

It's a bike ride.

Started by user nathansnider and user theroyalacademy.

It meets every Wednesday at 8:30pm
at California Donuts #21.
We ride at 9pm.
We'll endeavor to return before the last red line trains (around midnight).

On this bike ride, you might expect:
- full moon picnics
- inconvenient passageways
- "cover" versions of other people's rides, performed with amateurish enthusiasm
- amateurish enthusiasm
- disorientation
- reorientation
- pool halls
- bowling alleys
- karaoke
- geocaching
- oblique strategies
- Oulipian constraints
- traffic median tea parties
- rivers that no longer exist
- smell tourism
- Couchwick v2.0

Furthermore:
- usually 20-30 miles
- usually some hills
- a medium pace (probably not for beginners; certainly not a hustle)
- few stops, short stops
- but we're not in a rush; we don't need to run every light
- victory donuts!

your hair? Why was Bin Laden buried at sea? Why couldn't the bee go to the
ball? Why are you always tired? How can you get taller? How does Facebook
make money? How can you mend a broken heart? How can the mass-luminosity
relationship be used as a tool? Do you know the muffin man? Do you know the
way to San Jose? Do the right thing? Do the time warp? Does she love me? Does
he love me not? Who can declare war? Who can it be now? Who discovered pi?
Who should be the new Lara Croft? Who could ask for anything more? Who died
today? What is Twitter? What is the American dream? What time is it? What a
Wonderful World? WTF? Where does Justin Bieber live? Where do they sell
Toms? Where can you watch free movies online? Where did our love go? Why is
the ocean salty? Why do men cheat? Why do fools fall in love? Why did the
chicken cross the road? Why should you buy an iPad? Why should we recycle?
Why can't we be friends? Why is a raven like a writing desk? Why is the sky
blue? Is there a god? Is there a Bike God? Does he ride a freewheel brakeless?
Does she flaunt her omnipotence like that?

We cannot answer many of those for you (hint: try Google), but we can say
that YOU should not be riding freewheel brakeless this week -- or any week,
but especially not this week -- because we have hills, hills, uphills and downs.

Also note: we will be taking the Metro red line to North Hollywood at the start of
the ride. Valley riders can meet us at NoHo at 9:45, if you want. But don't be late;
we will not wait.

Finally: the route is long and, because of the train ride, we are effectively
starting late, so don't expect to get done by midnight.
