Memorial Ride for Ilia Pankin

So, I know there's already a few rides on Friday, and unfortunetly this one was just announced. On Monday, local messenger and bicycle enthusiast Ilia Pankin was hit and killed in a hit-and-run accident on Santa Monica and Wilshire. The will meet at the intersection of Santa Monica and Wilshire at 9pm. Riders will also meet downtown, at the bridge between 3rd and 5th on Flower at 7pm, or in Santa Monica at
Performance Bikes, where Ilia worked, on the corner of 5th and Broadway at 8pm.

Ilia was a great guy, and the Los Angeles cycling community will miss him. Let's get a huge group of people there for this, even if you can only stay for a minute before going to another ride.

from dg: meet at the fountain @ santa monica & wilshire in beverly hills @ 9pm - gather everybody - raise our bikes up over our heads and observe a moment for ilia - head down santa monica towards hollywood until La Brea - left on La Brea passed hollywood to right on Yucca - left on El Cerrito Pl - ilia lived on the left (almost corner) of Yucca and El Cerrito Pl - right on Franklin - right on Highland - right on
Hollywood - left on La Brea - down La Brea to Melrose - right on Melrose and we can meet your ride @ Melrose & Fairfax around 11pm @ Fairfax High - we could all like you said: continue down Melrose to santa monica and then stop at the fountain and gather until midnight.
