Beat the Donkey*

Cyro Baptista & Beat the Donkey is a traveling circus of fun. The music is propelled by the thumping
heartbeat of the two large surdos

(Brazilian bass drums). Sprinkle in Baptista’s wizardry on percussions – which include whistles,
timbales, pots and pans, long plastic tubes

whirled by the entire ensemble and other unusual self-made instruments – and what explodes on stage
is an energetic, mesmerizing,

virtuosic and more than engaging stage show.

Totally free outdoors show. Usually done by 10:30pm
