This, our 7th ride, is going to be absolutely epic. We're going to get liquor on our way straight to Griffith Park, where we'll begin riding up to the observatory. after breaking and resting there,we continue on up, using a few trails and roads, to the top of Mount Hollywood. The view from the top gives you a 360 degree of the entire LA area -- from the tip of the valley, to long beach, to Pasadena, to Catalina island. This spot being our main destination, we have fun up there for a while, then ride allllll the way back down the mountain, through the famous Griffith Park tunnel and back down to into Hollywood. We'll stop for late-night munchies at pink's hot dogs and then return to the start at pan pacific.

Tonight, although we are not riding really very far (less than 20 miles), we are going to be doing a lot of uphill to get to the top of Mount Hollywood. We will not be riding fast, but if you don't have much endurance or stamina at all, the ride may get tough for you towards the end. You have been warned.
bring your tools, lights, tubes, beers, blunts, and buds! get ready to party and do a fun ride!



ABOUT THE NEW RIDE
one may wonder, what exactly is the new ride? what's so new about it? what makes this ride so special that I should come to it? what's new about the new ride is new destinations. new streets. new neighborhoods. and new parks. every "new ride" you'll first find yourself riding down a major busy boulevard then BAM you turn on a quiet neighborhood street with incredible mansions, then out of nowhere you're smashing down a crazy hill at 45 mph and before you know it you're hiking with your bike in nature to the top of a mountain where you get the most incredible view of this fine city. then again you're coasting down hills and riding on little walkways in between freeways and bike paths and riding around lakes and canals taking every interesting pathway there possibly could be until you look closely and realize you're already back to the start point.

the NEW ride is a party/adventure hybrid ride

If you like to party it up on rides but also like to do some REAL riding/adventuring to awesome destinations that you've probably never been to before, then roll with the NEW ride. This ride began as my wish to take my fellow riders to the destinations that no other rides go to; to embark on adventurous routes, but still have all the fun of a party ride. Each ride's name and location is based on letters in the alphabet: the first ride was Type A, the 3rd Type C, etc. The destinations on each ride are based on the letter (Type E-Elysian Park, Type F-Franklin Canyon, etc) Almost every place we go to is new for every rider, hence the name of the ride.

No rider gets left behind unless they give up themselves and decide to leave. i will stop and regroup for stragglers or flats whenever necessary. While Brakes + Gears are recommended for this ride, any type of bike will be able to make it (except for freewheel brakeless --we will have to ask you to leave the ride)

THIS RIDE IS A PARTY RIDE, we will have at least one liquor stop, and we are completely 4:20 friendly. We're going to incredible spots to have fun, then ride off again into the night. i route us on more neighborhood streets than boulevards... less cars and new sights. although there is some of both.
also, PLEASE dont race ahead of the leader, when this happens turns are always overshot and people go the wrong way, splitting the ride. I try to set a medium pace for the slower people and when you speed ahead everyone loses
PLEASE BRING A BIKE THAT HAS SOME WAY OF STOPPING, WHETHER IT BE BRAKES OR A FIXED GEAR BIKE. RIDING FREEWHEEL WITHOUT BRAKES IS DUMB AND IT ENDANGERS NOT ONLY YOU BUT THE PEOPLE WHO RIDE AROUND YOU. YOU WILL NOT BE WELCOME ON THE RIDE IF YOU COME LIKE THIS.
LIGHTS ARE ALSO VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED AS THEY ARE HOW WE SEE YOU IF YOU ARE STRAGGLING ON THE RIDE. THIS WAY WE CAN REGROUP FOR YOU IF WE SEE YOU FAR BACK. THEY ALSO ALLOW YOU TO SEE WHERE YOU ARE GOING IN DARK PASSAGES, MAKE POTHOLES AND OTHER OBSTRUCTIONS MORE VISIBLE, AND PREVENT TROUBLE WITH THE LAW.
PLEASE consider wearing a helmet. This isn't required but accidents can happen at any time and if you have one on our ride we cant be held responsible for a head injury resulting from not wearing protection. We ride on some pretty dark roads, and you never know when shit might happen...
NO STEALING,TAGGING, OR OTHER BULLSHIT ON THIS RIDE. WE LIKE TO HAVE FUN BUT NOT AT THE EXPENSE OF OTHERS
