RIDE INFO: Now that July 4th's sulfured haze is over, let's get back to reality:

RIDE-Arc presents "On the Streets: Incarceration, Gentrification, and Homelessness" - our ride for July,
2007.
We will take you through the streets of downtown, exploring the directions downtown is being developed into,
pushed into, and held into.
Our ride will take a vivid and direct exploration through the interconnections between the politics and
development of downtown Los Angeles, the gentrification of once abandoned neighborhoods, the ever
growing homeless population, and the exploding rate of incarceration.
We are privileged to have guest speakers on this ride who may share a wealth of knowledge and insight into
the dynamics of an underlying turbulence that determines whether or not you get a Starbucks on your block.
"That'll be a Iced half-caf ristretto quad grande two pump rasberry two percent no whip light ice with bar
caramel drizzle three and a half pump white mocha, please. And make it quick - there's a filming happening
down the block and I need to show some people my head shots."

ROUTE: Roughly 15 miles. We're keeping the route smooth and succinct - afterall, there is an
afterparty to attend to!

PLEASE TAKE RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE SURE YOUR BIKE IS IN GOOD WORKING ORDER.
HAVE AN EXTRA TUBE IF YOU ARE ROLLING ON A LESS COMMON TIRE SIZE.
