How did you first hear about Midnight Ridazz and what was your first group bike ride.

I have been lucky enough to be blessed with truly wonderful and amazing people in my life. In 2005 I visited Los Angeles for the first time to see my friend Justin Shay. It just so happened to be the second Friday of the month the day I got there. He and his wife Tara told me all about this great group bicycle ride that happens once a month. They had procured me a bicycle from a friend so that I could come. It was Bike Summer in LA and that night was the Cult Ride. We dressed like weirdos in white sheets and rode bicycles with SO MANY!! other freaks everywhere for hours. What can I say about that experience? Looking back, it may have altered my life forever.

Most memorable moment of that ride: A guy in an abandoned lot at a stop standing next to a home made UFO yelling at people about his beer supply. "DON'T PEE ON MY UFO!!!!" "I KNOW YOU WANT TO STEAL MY PABST!!!"

Currently what rides do you attend regularly and what ride(s) would you like to see make a comeback?

I have just moved back to Los Angeles from an extended visit in San Francisco. However, I am psyched for Taco Tuesday, Los Angelopes, MR Monthly ride, Pier Pressure, Wolfpack, FMLY Ride and any long long rides.

What advice would you pass on to new ridazz?

I've met countless amazing people through MR. If you treat people with love they will do the same to you. Every unique person makes the scene what it is... so don't be afraid to be yourself!!!!!

Another big one is respecting each other and the places we visit while riding.

If you were leading a group ride, what would you do differently?

Do you prefer small rides (30 or less people) or larger rides and why?

I like bike rides.

Tell us about the best and worst experience you’ve encountered on a group ride.

Best: FUNDERSTORM on a bicycle ride... really to play a show during a bicycle ride is a dream come alive for me.

Worst: Watching Marcus alienated and alone when he came out on Crank Mob as Post Pizza. I love you Marcus.

Physically Worst: First Wolfpack I went on. At one point I bonked so hard and swear I had an out of body experience.

What did you do for fun before you started “riding”?

Taking walks, having conversations for hours, writing poetry on my grandmothers Royal typewriter, listening to music, playing music, looking at the sky, thinking, smiling, giving hi-fives, going to the arcade, going to shows, playing shows, setting up shows, taking bike rides with friends, mountain biking down mountains, taking pictures, whistling, surfing the net, laughing, having epiphanies, walking through the snow, hiking through the wilderness of Idaho with my eyes hungry for new, crying, and taking out the garbage.

What’s the best and worst thing group bike rides have done for cycling as a whole in Los Angeles?

I don't think I know LA well enough to say.

If you can name 1 person who embodies the spirit of “Midnight Ridazz”, Who would it be and Why?

SEXY!!! No matter what no matter where no matter anything... he always has an amazing attitude and an award winning smile. I love you Sexy.

What do you think the public’s perception is of group bike rides?

Mystified and dumbfounded.

Is there anything else you’d like to add?

Thank you Midnight Ridazz. I am inspired daily by you.
