PALUCHA66

What’s your name (optional) and/or your Midnight Ridazz log-in name?

Edson Palucha, MR Username: palucha66

How did you first hear about Midnight Ridazz and what was your first group bike ride?

Well I didn't actually hear it from everyone. I saw a massive group of cyclists passing by my house screaming Midnight Ridazz and such sorts. I googled it online and from there on I fell in love with my bicycle. My very first ride was The Glendale Ride.

Currently what rides do you attend regularly and what ride(s) would you like to see make a comeback?

I mostly attend The Glendale Ride, RWNN, LACM, The 2nd Friday Rides and some MoM Ridaz rides.

What advice would you pass on to the new ridazz?

Hold your line PLEASE!!! Carry lights and tools, don't litter, and last but not least don't be shy…talk to people.

If you were leading a group ride, what would you do differently?

I would eliminate beer stops. Why? Because sometimes people get too drunk, they begin swerving and then we end up with one or more cyclists being rushed to the hospital. I've seen it happen. It's not pretty.

Tell us about the best and worst experience you’ve encountered on a group ride.

Best: It had to be C.R.A.N.K.MAS! John Clark aka OsnapsonJC brought a hooka to the ride, people were wild, everyone was having F.U.N, there was an awesome photobooth, and for the first time I felt really close to this Bike culture.

Worst: I’ve never really had a worst group ride.

What did you do for fun before you started “riding”?

I never really did have F.U.N. before riding because I would read a lot and focus on my education. So I had a lot of spare time. But Midnight Ridazz filled in that gap. (in a good way)

What’s the best and worst thing group bike rides have done for cycling as a whole in Los Angeles?

Best: it increases bicycle awareness in this city.

Worst: A lot of uneducated people that get too drunk, litter, tag, and always mess around too much to the point where cops already know where the rides start. I'm pretty sure there are Narcs on this website.

If you can name 1 person who embodies the spirit of “Midnight Ridazz”, Who would it be and Why?

This is a tie between Alfredo Sauce and Imachynna. These two people used to bug me a lot and get on my nerves but after I met them personally they have shown me how to have a great time and how I can overcome my shyness. They probably don't know this but if it wasn't for them I probably wouldn't be a rida.

What do you think the public’s perception is of group bike rides?

The public probably thinks that Midnight Ridazz is a bunch of drunk idiots that love to disturb the peace and cause problems. But once they join the community they would begin to realize that Midnight Ridazz is a loving and caring community.

Is there anything else you’d like to add?

Sleep All Day

Pedal All Night
