This will be a 10-12 mile, casual-to-moderate paced bicycle tour of billboards in the WeHo & Hollywood areas. Approximately 3 hours long, including stops at 5-6 billboards. MAK Center director and How Many Billboards? co-curator Kimberli Meyer will lead the ride and briefly introduce each billboard along the route.
This is an urban bike ride on the streets of LA. Most of the route is on secondary streets (Fountain, Willoughby, etc), but we'll also ride short segments of the route along Sunset, Hollywood, La Brea, and Cahuenga Blvds. Mostly flat with a few minor inclines.
What to Bring: A bicycle in good running order! Helmet is highly recommended! Spare tubes/tools, water & a snack. All participants under 18 must wear a helmet and be escorted by a parent or guardian. (Children should be on a tag-a-long, bike trailer, tandem, or other safe child-carrying device.)
Free.
Rain cancels, sprinkles do not.
